I know I'll sound like an old crusty fart, but this is what's missing from today's game and why old school basketball was better.

Spoken like a true dumbass.

Guys were launching themselves all over the court to dive for balls, tip passes, and extract a small advantage.

Disagree completely until he's a better jump shooter and better in the post.

I'd put him top 10 or 15, though.

I think there are still teams that are too lazy, but luckily we're moving into an era of better team play. If there's a big difference between today and back then, it's that basketball was a tough sport. You didn't have vaginas flailing around and getting knocked down by air. It was a game with a lot more shit-talking, rogue elbows, pushing and shoving.

I disagree to an extent. The players are bigger and more physical now, and they would physically pummel the players in the past.

You can't do the rogue elbows and intentional bullshit (I am looking your way, Bill Laimbeer) as much now days due to fines and suspensions.

I just hate that some of them flop like pussies.

And some of them aren't talented enough so they have to resort to that shit. Can you actually imagine Magic rolling around on the ground grabbing his eye and shit pretending he got poked to draw a foul. Now Danny Ainge? Maybe, but if you are elite as Lebron and Wade are you shouldn't have to resort to that shit.

I could honestly see Lebron going the old get taken out on a stretcher bit and then by some miracle recover hop off the stretcher and run back onto the court.

It's way too early to be talking top 5. He'll need to sustain a high level of play and pick up another 2-3 titles as the leader of whatever team he is on. Then you can discuss being in the top 5.

His post game is fine when he decides to use it and it is something he has worked on. As for his jump shooting, he is an above average jump shooter for someone 6' 8' and 250 lbs.

His skills are top 5. The only thing he's lacking to be considered the GOAT is longevity.

He increased his FG% in six straight years. He shot 56.5% from the floor this year and 40% from three.

For comparison, if you exclude LeBron's rookie year, Kobe Bryant's best FG% is worse than LeBron's worst.

LeBron's career FG% is better than Dirk's, and he's a better jump shooter than Jordan ever was.
