"FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Lauren Silberman's bid to make the NFL consisted of two kickoffs totaling 30 yards, an aggravation of a quadriceps injury she said she initially suffered in training last week and a whole lot of wondering whether the entire thing was a promotional sham."

"Her first kick from the 35-yard line — after it took her more than 20 seconds to place the ball on the tee — was a line drive that barely crossed midfield. The second one didn't get past the 50."

Field goal kicker, ok. However, on kickoffs, a woman becomes a possible liability. One block from special teamer would put her out for the rest of the game or season. Dumb idea.

She ain't gonna tackle anybody on a kickoff so basically you reduced your squad to 10 people.

True most kickers don't tackle anyway but a female kicker would have a bulls eye on her back.
