That's the way we rolled in the 80's. Songs meant more than slick production as far as rock bands went. Songs have always been the whole point to me.

Yes. be it actual pop or pop/rock or pop/country. It's like they're running out of ideas and abandoning what made each genre great. I.E. they aren't trying. Effort and belief can save each genre. Now to find artists who have that.

For me, the main thing is that most pop music lyrics dont mean anything.... meaningful. When that crosses with the song also sounding awful to begin with..... eghhh

I agree. That's why I hardly ever post anything new. IMO todays music has no soul for the most part. Without soul all you have are dumb lyrics sung to a dumb over burdened beat.

Don McClain sang about the day the music died. It seems he was talking about today.
