I figured I would start a thread for this and see what happens....there seemed to be quite a few viewers on the board for this show the past few weeks.....I like the direction the show is taking so far......episode 3 tonight at 7 central on ABC....

Did you notice that nobody else on the plane seemed to notice Desmond.. Almost like Jack was the only one that could see him? Desmond was there and then he was gone just like that..

Also on a side point... pretty sure i saw Carl(Alex's Boyfriend on the island) on the plane..

Aside from Spoilers and Theories, what was your guys favorite scene from last night.

I cant decide between the MIB/Ben conversation in the Foot or the Jack/Locke conversation at the airport.

I hadn't thought about it, but you're right. Jack had the feeling that he knew Desmond from somewhere - but they had never met because all the island stuff didn't happen. Sat there and when he came back from helping Charlie, he was gone and Rose never saw him and nobody else talked with him.

I think that is right. I think they thought it was a security system for the island/temple, but obviously it isn't.

didnt Ben say that though? Obviously Ben is a tool, and probably everything he said in the past about what he knows about the island was a manipulation and not true..

Remember when Desmond ran into Jack at the stadium when they were both running stairs? that happened before flight 815? and desmond was training for a trip around the world on a sailboat... so maybe that is where jack thought he knew him from? or maybe that never happened in the alternate reality?!

If the bomb exploded, Widmore was on the island and would have died. There would be no Penny and then no reason for Desmond to meet Penny and be in the US and bump into Jack on the steps of the stadium.

sorry i didnt see it.. My favorite scene was when the smoke monster destroyed all those guys inside the foot... answered a couple of questions that have been lingering over the years..

The only thing I can't figure out is if Jacob is now in Sayid, does Jacob possess people whereas the Man In Black only takes their image? So MIB is basically a shapeshifter?

My original theory was that both MIB and Jacob were Smokeys in their natural form.

However, now I'm doubting that theory. I think Smokey/MIB is a shapeshifter, yes. He takes the forms of others but does not "possess" them or inhabit their bodies.

If Jacob is in Sayid, and I'm not 100% sure that is (though, I think it would be pretty cool), then it would be different from what Smokey does. This would be a possession. Jacob using Sayid's body, not manifesting a likeness of Sayid.

EDIT: Also! Remeber that we've seen 2 version of Christian walking the island. One is wearing the same suit and sneakers that he was buried in, and one is dressed very differently. Maybe the differently dressed Christian was a shapeshifting Smokey and the Christian in coffin clothes was Jacob??

So, yes, it's different. If that's what's going on. This could all be something totally different. However, I do think (at this point) that something is possessing Sayid. I don't think he died and was resurrected.
