Bucs not planning to extend Josh Freeman

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...mans-contract/

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs won’t be extending Freeman’s contract, which expires after the 2013 season. And as Stroud explains it, the decision not to sign Freeman to a new deal could be part of a plan by coach Greg Schiano, who inherited Freeman, to get his own quarterback. And Freeman may change Schiano’s mind only by playing so well this season that Freeman leaves the Bucs with no other option than to use the franchise tag or sign him to a long-term deal.

One possibility would be to apply the non-exclusive tag and to see if anyone is willing to sign Freeman to an offer sheet and give up a pair of first-round picks. That would enable the Bucs to pull a reverse Keyshawn, giving up a player and getting two first-round picks 14 years after they gave up two first-round picks to get Keyshawn Johnson from the Jets.

The Bucs likely would settle for less, since the alternative will be to let Freeman walk away.

I love that you've been shown multiple videos of him reading defenses, yet you don't care.

Reports of people saying he's a football junkie, yet it doesn't matter, he's a fraud, who is a thug.

This is why you are treated like a ****ing 4 year old on here.

Weis? Really? The same guy who refused to work with Cassel?

For as much as you thrash SNR for excusing Geno's flaws, you're shittin em out pretty fast for Freeman.

I like how he, the self-professed champion of Tyler Wilson, responded to criticisms of said QB with more mindless Geno bashing.

He's ****ing reeruned, obviously.

And I love it that dumbasses like you think that Tyler Wilson being a man in a press conference and holding people accountable is throwing his team under the bus.

I don't care if he's reading defense's in a gif. Watch a game of his. He's going to his first read most of the time with his eyes locked on his primary read.

And do you really think that none of these other guys don't constantly study film? C'mon man

I don't think he threw his team under the bus, it's just a criticism many have. I like Wilson alot.

I was just throwing his criticisms out there to show that you don't have to use petty insults to have a ****ing football conversation on here.

Wanna talk football, or do you just want to sit around like a ****tard and "contemplate" a bunch of bullshit options?

We should apparently consider the Freeman trade, or Alex Smith or Matt Flynn or all this other garbage according to you. It's like you have zero grasp of trends or history.
Personally I was intrigued by this trade rumor and got in on the conversation for it. I stand by the thought / hopes of more than one option. I would like to see the drafted by us, and a couple others with hope.

More than anything we all want the same thing, a wining football team success in the post season, and some trophies named after the innovators of modern football, hunt and Lombardi

He can't do it.

He's never actually seen Wilson play.

All he does is regurgitate the stuff we've already discussed when it comes to Wilson.

I like Tyler Wilson from the little Ive seen him. I like Geno better because I havent heard the high football IQ and some of the good stuff about Wilson like Geno. I do wonder about Geno's pouting issues at times. I like that he shows frustration because he wants to win

.15 -that's an NFL INT
33 -what do you know? Geno stares down his first read and it's an INT!
3:46-stared down his first read again. DB knew it. INT
4:20-goes to his first read yet again and makes a bad pass. Look at the WR going across the field on the short route WIDE OPEN. Literally had 10+ yards to run. Geno didn't throw it because he didn't go through his reads even though he had plenty of time in the pocket.
5:32-horrible pass. That's an INT in the NFL every time. The DB should not have dropped that pass.

90% of the time Geno was staring down his first read. That shit won't work in the NFL. Has to be fixed. Just has to.
And look at the YAC. A ton of his passes are within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

He made some great throws, but again he should have had 4 INT's in the game too. Top NFL DC's are going to figure this out.
