Right - Geno does. At this point, Alex Smith is what he is - a QB that managed to reach his ceiling as a solid game manager when playing for one of the most QB-friendly teams in the league (very good coaching, and as a result an appropriate offensive system). That's a lot like Matt Cassel's situation with the Patriots.

Now, I'm not saying that Alex Smith would completely flop in KC like Cassel ultimately did (his success with the 49ers was over a few years), but I doubt that he would become any better than he is right now. Right now, he is probably good enough to get a talented, well-coached team to the playoffs (and maybe even a game or two in), but there's no chance in hell that he's enough of a playmaker to win the team a Super Bowl.

I'd much rather roll the dice on a young player with a high ceiling than settle for "a bit above average", and that mindset is shared of most of the other posters on this forum who abhor the idea of signing Alex Smith. It doesn't matter if 2014's top QB or 2015's top QB is better than Geno; we won't be able to take him anyway. Alex Smith will play well enough to get us to the playoffs sometimes and NEVER be in the position that we're in now - the position that allows us to choose our favorite QB in the draft and take him.

Implying that THAT is when we wake you up, and not in any other situation. Only when the combine is over and Geno still isn't in the picture.

That means if one of those doesn't happen, we shouldn't wake you up. Which means you'll stay asleep.

Well, if the combine is over (check) but Geno IS in the picture, we can't wake you up, and can't do it until he's out of the picture. If the Chiefs draft him, then he'll always be IN the picture.

That means we can NEVER wake you up. So either you find some other way of waking up, or you stay asleep forever, which is also known as being dead.

Shit...the best 3 QB's from that ridiculous run of QB's are Cam Newton, Andy Dalton and Kaepernick and the latter were like QB6 and QB7 from that draft.

Keitzman has been obsessed lately with draft order rather than round.

Something about Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, and Colin Kaepernick were all the sixth QB taken in their respective drafts or something. Don't really remember exactly.
