Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

luv, watch this. There's no reason you can't start using free weights. Very good principles outlined in this video.

Ah, Elliot Hulse has some great videos. Not sure how anyone can afford his strengthcamp, but he's worth several hours of youtube viewing.

So, I didn't run at all for two weeks. Just lifting and walking. Tonight was the first time I even tried to jog. Just played my first soccer game in two weeks. Ankle feels okay right now. We'll see. I hope it's healed, because I have some games I shouldn't miss this week.

i've just fallen off - weight wise - i'm only up 4lbs. I'm just in a rut and can't seem to get my personal life straight, it's always one or the other - but i've never had them both line up - right now with me, Professional life is great - but personal is not so much. No pity partying - just reality and I need to change it. I'm so unorganized when I DO work out - I feel i'm not getting the bang I need for my buck.

just more trim, I think I know what to do, I just needed you to hear this, I want change and sometimes need a kick in the ass to get it rolling.

You said two different things there. You want to beef up, but you also want to be slimmer?

Focus on slimming down, then on beefing up and then trimming off the excess fat.
