***Official Knowmo2724 homer-2000 thread***

Very few non-bronco fans can tolerate him. he creates inane threads that are homeristic in nature (his avatar is very apropos), and nobody loves him (not even his own mother)

'face, this can be the home for all knowmo threads so we aren't treated to the bi-weekly steaming 'presents' left by the front door.

I'd take Von. Ray Lewis needs the guys in front of him to do their job and keep him clean in order to make a major impact on a game. Lewis' leadership would be a MAJOR plus though.

I dunno... could you really go wrong with any of them?

I might take Ray Lewis knowing that the personnel around him has changed dozens of times in his stead (coaches, defensive line, linebackers, secondary) but the one consistent through all of that has been a high, high quality level of play from that defense. THOSE kind of ILBs are very hard to find.

Von's a close second though, and if his career doesn't just keep going but it also IMPROVES, I'm definitely going to have to change my answer.

Von's game is still developing. By the time he's done, barring injuries, I think he would be the choice.

He's getting lots of credit for his pass rushing. But the reality is he's played well all over the field, when they haven't had the lead. The offenses become one-dimensional in the second half, and that's where he's brutal.

Your tweet posting just ended the season for McGahee...

And, honestly - who cares what Norv says, esp when he's talking about Denver being better than a team that previously beat Denver fairly soundly.

Stop posting before another Broncos' starter is lost for the season.

I think you're a bit too fond of twitter updates... I was going to look up what happens next with Hillman, Ball and the failure that is Moreno - figured you'd be posting something soon though.

In other news...

Losing McGahee is going to hurt, hopefully Hillman is ready - he won't likely be the pass catching threat or the protection option that McGahee provided, but I hope he's ready for an increased workload.

Apparently, Adam Teicher is making the case that the Broncos are better than the Chiefs this year. Two things.... (1) we should all thank KnowMo for bringing such news to the Planet, and, (2) that tweet deserves a Sticky. We could all discuss whether or not Teicher is right about the Broncos being favored against KC this week. I kinda think KnowMo & Teicher might be on to something here.... Thoughts?

I can't argue with any of these. Von has the advantage of adding the pass rushing element that the others don't really bring so it was a bit unfair. I probably should have asked Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Thomas or Von Miller since they're all 4-3 OLBs with pass rush skills.

Oh well. Anyway, I'd go Ray Lewis for the intangibles. Pat Willis would be my second choice for pure athleticism as well as the best coverage ability of any of the others. Von would be third and Urlacher last.

Quote:
Von Miller's 24.5 career sacks are the 2nd-highest total in NFL history thru a player's 1st 25 games (D. Thomas, 25, '89-90).
Aldon Smith has 27.5.. And he was just a situational player oftentimes in his first season.

EDIT: 28.5! That would make Von Miller 3rd all-time, in case you were counting.
