The golden age of wrestling

Reading this article about George "the Animal" Steele brought back all those fond memories, Ricky Steamboat, Jesse Ventura, Dick the Bruiser, the Iron Sheik...etc.

"Wrestling is a make believe business, and the stars are never truly in control of their own success." ~ Jim Myers, a.k.a. George "the Animal" Steele

I didn't know until now, George Steele's day job is a high school teacher.

"What I'd like to have at this time, is for all you fat, out of shape Kansas cows to keep the noise down, while I show the ladies what a real sexy man is supposed to look like." Rick Rude circa 89 I think at the Kansas Expocenter in Topeka at Saturday Nights Main Event prior to Royal Rumble. Got to see Warrior vs Andre, Demolition, Hogan lose to Leaping Lanny Poffo. Awesome night for a 13 year old.

Rick Rude was always my favorite (and it didnt hurt that he knocked out Ultimate Warrior backstage legitimately), along with Randy Savage and Curt Henning.
