49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Personally, I don't see Alex Smith as more than a two year starter, unless he absolutely lights it up, which is something I do not expect.

I expect him to play well, bring stability and leadership to the position, but I don't expect him to be the long-term solution.

Exactly. Wait, it only took one year to almost get to the super bowl, and two to get there, and for the first season alex smith WAS the starting qb. Would you keep your pants on until they actually can get on the field? You clearly dont know crap about alex smith, other than looking at box scores and what others have said. If you lose games this year, hes not going to be the reason. hes only been the primary reason the 49ers have lost a game, twice in the past TWO YEARS. The Giants game this year, and the NFCCG. thats it......
