Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Only two flaws in that movie.

1) sound mixing as the dialogue was too low in some spots that I missed 1/3 of Bridges' lines. If it'd been louder, I could have made them out.

2) Ending was abrupt. I was left wanting more. Perhaps it's, as you say, a commentary on the genre. The voice over came back and I was like "really? that's it?".

The sex in Black Swan is heavy and graphic. The ballerina's venture into the Black Swan psyche features her first explorations of sex, including fantasies with a fellow female dancer. In a similar vein, the review from the Jesuit magazine America states: "In pursuing perfection, Nina has all but shut herself off from the workings of grace—the only truly effective salve for a wounded soul. Grace, after all, cannot be achieved, though it is freely given. Sadly, Nina never makes that leap." Well said.

Just saw Get Him to The Greek.

Wasn't really good, but it wasn't the worst piece of shit movie I've ever seen either.

Watched Winter's Bone last night. Extremely high expectations, and it didn't disappoint. The first 10 minutes or so.....hoping it was going to pick up. It didn't necessarily; the story/acting/landscape/etc. just simply drew me in to the point that by the end I felt like I was standing there next to them watching Teardrop play the banjo in the yard.

The funny parts weren't funny and the serious parts were idiotic. Jonah Hill has been good in exactly one starring role--Superbad--and Russell Brand is ****ing intolerable.

Thank you. The best parts of the movie were Diddy. That should tell you just how smelly of a turd this film was.

I checked out the trailer on youtube, looks like a good one. I think I'm going to have to watch this one!

Great movie. Really enjoyed it a ton. Christian Bale did an amazing job. Amy Adams is smokin hot. Go see it if you haven't already.

Bill Simmons said she uglied it up for that role. He really can be a dumbass sometimes. I was very appreciative of the see-through black bra.

I didnt think it was good, but I laughed at some of the stuff Puff Daddy and I was laughing when Jonah Hill called him a dick when he was drinking all of his liquor and smoking his weed.

I could sit through it though, sounds like you ****ing despised it, but sat through it.

I thoroughly enjoyed True Grit. Mrs. FMB! and I will be going to Black Swan either this afternoon or tomorrow.

My only complaint about True Grit:

Seriously, my singular complaint about True Grit were a couple of shots at the end while Marshal was riding the horse with Mattie Ross. The shots looking directly back at the two characters were so clearly and disturbingly blue screen it. It was jarring to me.
