Would you rather be 8-0 with Alex Smith or 3-5 with Geno?

Our offense is terrible with Alex Smith. It would likely be worse with Geno given his propensity to turn the ball over and give the other teams points through pick 6s and returned fumbles for TDs. So seeing as how we barely win with the offense we have now, we'd have likely lost more than a few games if we had Geno as our QB.

But would you rather take those growing pains with Geno, or be 8-0 with Alex and be in the driver seat toward a first round bye in the playoffs?

Their WR's were all hurt. Their starting HB was hurt. And Geno has played a much tougher schedule than we have...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think the biggest problem last week was Thomas can erase one of our pass rushers without help. That allows them to double Houston. They were able to drop our pass rush from FEARSOME to EFFECTIVE.

And it also looked like they watched some tape on S. Smith and knew just how to beat him.

The good news is we won't be playing the best LT in the game after this week...

See my other posts, no.

But I would rather have Geno than Alex, end of story. To suggest this team would have a losing record with Geno is disingenuous at best.

How did the last 8-0 season turn out? Yeah, it is fun, but expecting this to turn out different than the last 11 times they have done the exact same thing is just plain insanity. They are going to have to show me.

Sure, there's field position and possible pick sixes to worry about, but some of that would be offset by a QB who can stretch the field (Cassel was the worst of both worlds... turnovers and couldn't make plays). Also, Geno's QB rating and TD/INT ratio is much worse in the 2nd half.... part of that is probably due the turnovers in the 1st half, but with a better defense, maybe they don't get behind as much in the first half so he's not pushing to catch up in the 2nd.

unfortunate for the Jets defense, the pts allowed is skewed due to all of Geno's pick sixes and his fumbles in his own red zone.

And the flip side.... thinking that Geno is going to be a Franchise QB is disingenuous. The stats can't really prove anything about his yet except he is a rookie that can't handle the pressure yet.

He MAY BE a good QB in a few years...but he might also be just another over-hyped College QB that fails under the pressure of the NFL.

I don't wash balls but you apparently do. This thread is for Geno ballwashers anyways and I must say you are doing a fine job.

I was all for drafting a QB but there wasn't one at 1.1 I really liked. I watched Geno Smith and at first I thought meh but I gave him a chance and watched him some more. AT one point I had myself talked into him but as time went on I just didn't like the guy. He choked down the stretch to the draft and then he has this overall douchieness that I don't care for. The more I saw the less liked. I wasn't wanting Alex Smith either but I like him more than Geno. And after watching Bray I like him more than Geno too.

At this point I find it hard to not like Alex Smith though. The fact that he's still in the NFL after all he's been through shows a lot of grit. It's amazing really because most guys would have fallen to the wayside after 5 years in the league like he had. I also think Harbaugh shit on him too and that makes me pull for the guy. And the last thing is that I'm a big boy and I understand that I don't get to pick the players and at a point I either cheer on the Chiefs or I don't. I choose to cheer for the Chiefs and Alex Smith while others choose to bleed out their vag on the internet.

That's incorrect unless you are doing something stupid like using yards instead of points?

There is that line of bullshit again Like people that don't want Alex as QB don't root for Chiefs to win as much as ballwashers such as yourself.

You mean like Alex Smith? What Alex Smith has going for him is game day experience, he is a good leader and he is tough. But he sucks at being able to throw the ball down field, something Geno excels at. It is going to be fun to watch. So far, Geno's rookie season is better than Alex Smith's or Peyton's rookie season.

Yards. Be honest than and don't try to skew shit to make your point. NOBODY uses yards when talking about defensive standings.
