NFL.com has Chiefs taking Paul Richardson, WR, CO. Thoughts on him? In my eyes he has good speed/acceleration. His hands are a bit inconsistent for me, drops too many balls he should catch but he also makes his share of highlight catches. Decent route runner but not as polished as you would want. Bit concerned about his build though, being around 180 at 6'1" usually translates to never ending injuries.

I was all over a top TE or WR with our 1st pick but I've got this feeling we are going D with our pick.

The last 6 games of the year and the playoff loss really showed our glaring weakness, which was stopping the passing attack. Two ways to go about it and I think we try both. One, we need a FS in a very bad way! I think we go to the FA market since no player will be available when we pick in the 1st. So, on to the second way to stop the pass and that's with a pass rush. Leads me to think we go DE in the 1st and I'm leaning towards Kony Ealy.

Lots of very good wr's will be available in the 3rd round and looks as though Dorsey is looking to FA for a wr as well with bringing in that dude for the CFL.

The only way they go d, it's if tuitt, Gilbert, or dix are there. Te is the number one offensive priority. They can sign Decker riley or maclin if they really want a wr.

TE is the #1 priority? What?

They are three deep at the position with one a proven starter in the league (Fasano) and two that are only scratching the surface (McGrath & Kelce). The only way that go TE is if Kelce's injury and subsequent surgery didn't fix the problem and the microfracture basically finishes his career before it starts.

People need to realize that Duck McGrath really only played one year of college ball and that was at a very minor school. If this dude is capable of getting open against NFL level safeties, LBs and defensive backs in what was effectively his rookie season in a very complicated offense, the sky is the limit for this guy. He also shows a lot of passion and love for the game. Kelce is supposed to be the complete package at the position. And Fasano, a former second round draft pick, has been a starter in this league for six seasons for a reason.

That's what should be a very, very solid rotation at the position.

The main focus should be at WR. There is the chance that McCluster isn't on the team and there is really nothing at the position behind Bowe.

They will be in the position of getting a very, very good player at that position when they draft due to the depth of the position in the upcoming draft. Even at 23, there will be a solid NFL prospect there at the WR spot.

However, free agent market at the position isn't spectactular when you really start looking at it. Decker is going to be very expensive on the free agent market. Maclin is broken. Riley Cooper makes the most sense as he's familiar with the offense and shouldn't break the bank. Personally, I'd be shocked if he's not a Chief next season.

That CFL dude, Weston Dressler, can flat out ball.

Very reminiscent of Welker in that he is an undersized guy with speed (4.48 40) and extremely good instincts.

State Gatorade Player of the Year in high school who went on to set 19 school records in college. (I mean, wtf? Is there even 19 statistical categories in football?)

But they will have a chance to get a very good player at the position in the draft.

IMO, it's going to be either WR or OL.

I'd love for Weston to pan out cause I think you are correct that McCluster is probably going to get an offer from another team. Probably cheaper than an NFL FA to boot.

I just think its harder to get a difference maker at the DE or OLB so it just make sense to get one with our 1st rounder if available. Most people still haven't checked out Kony Ealy but he is gonna be a stud in the NFL.

I also now believe like you state that we probably stick with our set of TE's.

I think guys like Jeff Janis and Robert Herron will be there in the 4th round and could be great additions to the wr corp. Both very speedy with good hands. Add them to Bowe, AJ, Hemmingway, maybe Weston and you'd have an improved unit with the potential to be explosive.

I think Ealy has some solid potential as a pass rushing 3-4 OLB. He would be a better fit as a 4-3 DE. On tape, Michael Sam honestly stands out more than Ealy does to me. He might not have Ealy's length but Sam seems to be more relentless. I don't think that either of them have game changing ability though. Probably 8-10 sacks a year kind of guys.

Jared Abbrederis was a beast when Russell Wilson was there and still put up 1,000+ receiving yards and 7 TD's this season with poor QB play.

Best hands in the big 10 and he absolutely embarrassed Roby in the Ohio State game. He reminds me a lot of Eric Decker.

Would be ecstatic if we got him in round 3.

Fasano is going to be 30, has had only one season with more than 40 receptions (41) as a receiving TE, and he's seen his YPC dip to under 9 in each of the past two seasons. He's a TE2. The Chiefs need a TE1.

I want going to address this. It's pointless. The chiefs collective group of tight ends, is the worst. in the league

I don't see how Reid could possibly pass on Ebron or Amaro if they are on the board. Doesn't matter to me if it's a WR or TE. We just need another legit receiving weapon.

But hell I think both will be off the board when we pick. I think teams like the Jets, Packers, ravens and patriots (trade up) will be pushing to get them.

I doubt it. WR is the deepest position in the draft this year, primarily due to all the underclassmen who have declared. Next here with Washington and Lucas gone and Mauk under center, he should be the go to guy for Mizzou. I think he will have a great year, and be drafted much higher next year. Of course that could be wishful thinking from a Mizzou homer wanting to see him stay.

Most Mizzou homers know that DGB was a true sophomore last year, and couldn't enter this year's draft even if he wanted to.
