I think that numbers are deceiving.

I watched plenty of RGIII in 2011 and when I watched Smith, I saw nothing remotely similar. RGIII was mobile, smart, sharp, accurate, charismatic and has a gun for an arm.

Smith, while accurate at times, didn't display the same running ability, the same leadership, the same charisma, and so on. That doesn't mean he'll fail in the NFL but it does explain why so many people out there don't project him as an NFL superstar.

Barkley and Smith are opposites in many ways but if they were combines into one singular QB, you'd be looking at a slam dunk #1 overall player. As it stands, there are legitimate questions about both players.

And outside of Luck.....there have always been legitimate questions about any QB taken in the 1st round. Even RGIII had questions.

Anyone that questioned RGIII was an idiot. The guy was a phenomenal talent. I'd have given the entire 2012 draft and a first rounder in 2013 to draft that guy.

Not anymore. When guys are coming back from ACL tears in less than 9 months, blowing out a knee isn't a big concern.

Look at a guy like Lattimore. It's unbelievable that he's walking, let alone blowing up at his Pro Day.

If this type of science existed back in the 70's, guys like Bert Jones, Joe Namath, O.J. Simpson, etc. would hold every stinkin' record, ever.

Logic. Its pretty basic.....
It was posted here before you came along, but 33% of all Super Bowl wins are enjoyed by a QB drafted #1 overall.

So barely any.

So, you're telling us that the Redskins are concerned? What, exactly, are they concerned about?

I know what they should be concerned about, and that's the play calling and offensive line.

If they weren't dealt a $36 million cap charge ($18 million per) for "over spending in an uncapped year", they likely would do something their offensive line.

Oh no, I love RG3 and im sure they do too. Im saying that the ACL injuries cant be explained as "not a concern" when he just got done tearing it again in a playoff game.

It's a not a concern. This isn't 1977.

Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson returned from ACL tears this year, as did the Eric Berry and Tony Moeaki. How did it affect their NFL play?

RGIII is a QB. He needs better protection and better play calling. I can't ever remember an NFL QB having a career ending ACL tear. Furthermore, once an ACL is replaced, it's stronger than the original.

It's a concern if he keeps taking hits while running the football. His body WILL break down over time. And it will breakdown a lot faster than that of a QB who doesn't run as much as he does.
