Would you trade Flowers next year?

For a 2nd round pick? We've seen the defense play just as good if not better without him.

If Cooper continues to play like he has been you have him on a 4 year 7th round pick deal.

You have to pay Justin Houston. I wouldn't be surprised to see Charles hold out given the way he's being used and his current bargain contract.

IIRC Berrys contract will be up in a few years too.

The defense is set the offense needs a lot of improvement obviously. An extra pick would help. I would make that trade.

Someone go to another team's message board and see if you can find anyone willing to give up a second round pick for a 5'9 slot corner with injuries to both legs who ran a 4.55 at the combine eight years ago.

You should probably mention that he makes over $8,000,000 per year, too.

would you happen to be talking about the guy who, on 6/28/2013, PFF rated as the #3 overall CB over the last 5yrs?

Or you could just say Brandon Flowers.

Maverick,

I'm pretty sure you are a card carrying member of a board for 3/4 of the leagues teams. Go check it out please.

Same guy...only now he's five years older, has injuries to both knees, and is the third best corner on our team.

He's still a good player, but he's not "turn down a 2nd round pick and pay him $8.3 million per season" good. It's a moot point, though. Not a single team in the league would offer us a second for him.

Flowers ranks behind Charles Woodson (#2) and ahead of Champ Bailey (#4). Those guys are probably also worth second round picks in trade, right?

Flowers has always been underappreciated by this fanbase and its scary to see how much Chiefs fans are so sure that Cooper and Sean Smith will maintain that level of play for the rest of the year, let alone the next few years.

Sean Smith was more or less appreciated in Miami as he was inconsistent, you never know when that inconsistency might show up again.

Just last year, the Chiefs had that guy Stanford Routt who was a top 10 CB in Oakland the year before and look how that turned out.

I wont even talk about Cooper who has so much to prove.

It's a shame how much some of you get your hopes up that much after a 7th round pick has 3 great games and are ready to part ways with a CB who has been a top 5-10 CB for the last 5 years when he misses one or two games.

Flowers 27
Woodson 37
Bailey 35

And based on that ranking of 5 years those guys were playing at that level for 5 years after 30 and you're wanting to ship Flowers off at 27-28?

I still think he's the best CB on the team and I thin the Chiefs do to if they are matching him up with Dez Bryant.

Wait... what? Charles is like 80 percent of the Chiefs offense who's on pace for nearly 400 touches playing on a cheap contract. Are you suggesting this would be an unprecedented move? If so I'd encourage you to pay better attention. Ray Rice did the exact same thing.
