Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I have run them through the washing machine, but they didn't come out near as clean as some good old Palmolive dish soap & hot water. Boar-snakes are a must have if you shoot any of the seventeens.

I'd recommend the 50 cal Encore with 2 pellets under the 250gr Hornady. I run 4x12x50mm scopes in single piece Talley ring mounts on my encore muzzle loader barrels. Its a very dependable combination, and with a couple small tweaks the encore platform is a very accurate rig.

Make sure to read the fine print to figure out if the special permit requires bulk powder, open sights, nonsaboted bullets, or if it has any other unusual regulations. Those special permit hunts can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

So I have come to really not like the KelTec PF9 after owning it a while. My pinky hanging off the grip is annoying and though I fully believe that I fixed the FTE issue... I don't feel 100% confident.

So... I bought something different.

Bersa BP9cc - $429 (mine not actually in the pics)

Gonna go shoot it tomorrow. Longer barrel, longer grip. The KelTec w/ HogueJr grip, laserlyte sidemounted laster, + extra mag now for sale.

The pf9 is not a comfortable shooting gun, it is for maximum concealment, Now I also have an SR9C that I like more than the PF9 but when I am in a hurry, I always grab that PF9 because of it's conceal ability..

PS Nice New Gun

What do you want for the Laser? Or are you going to sell it all at once?

I'd like to sell it all at once if I could. If it is slow going I'll keep you in mind. Don't really NEED to sell it at all... just would be nice to offset the Bersa.

The new Bersa feels amazing in my hand. Like it was made just for me.

Thanks mang. How many dollars you talking about for the setup you recommended? What would a person look for in purchasing a used setup?
The information for the special hunt says "Muzzleloading or Cap-&-Ball Firearms Only (3 hunts-in-lines and scopes are allowed)" Not sure what the hunts-in-lines means

For a 1 time hunt I would look for an old CVA Kentucky rifle in 45 or 50 cal. For around a 100 bucks. Im guessing your setup in today's market would push 700.00 or more. & the prices for 20 or 30 sabots needed for inline muzzle loaders is ridiculous. I can buy 250 round balls for the price of 30 sabots.
you can shoot round balls out of inline but the twist rate is wrong & accuracy is pretty bad.

Inline uses a 209 shotgun primes & shoots a sabot bullet. Real men dnt hunt with these rifles. ITS CHEATING! The hole dam purpose of shooting back powder is to time travail back to the days when Mountain men were King of the woods. If you are gonna do it? Do it right. Find a Hawkins or a Kentucky rifle. You wont be sorry

I enjoy your posts, but you're ****ing reeruned.

He's drawing a special permit. One of which only 7 people get. You don't **** around on these types of hunts. You read the rules and maximize your potential of killing a giant.

If you want to go back in time, use old ass shit, and pretend you're raping and pillaging Indian tribes with Custer, do it on a regular permit you can buy over the counter. I have several of the old flints and cap & ball dead ends, but I sure as hell don't use them on special permit hunts.
