I am looking for a MMORPG to play.

Title says it all, not sure if there is many of you that play this type of game... Star Wars Galaxies was my first ever MMORPG, picked it up when i was like 8 or 9 years old... loved it.. after they released an update that killed the game, I played alot of runescape, and moved into WoW. Ive probably spent most of my time in WoW.

That being said, I want to find a new MMORPG that has a good base of players and a great combat system with some player built housing (wish player built citys too like SWG but not any credible game out has that yet to my knowledge), and great PvP. Im currently playing Tera, its great combat is really engaging, however Ive heard its really lacking players, and the endgame and PvP gets stale after a while, and the leveling is a grind-fest. The combat in Tera is a refreshing thing to switch to for a few weeks.... but just curious if im missing any other MMORPG's that are worth the time? Ive played SWTOR, fun, but I can tell it wont be around for the long haul, which makes it pointless to play, whereas WoW, you know is gonna be around a long time, so when you put in the time, it doesnt feel wasted... Am I missing any good, great MMORPG's or is there just none out there as of now? I know everyone says run to WoW, but really the only reason WoW is so successful to this day, and continues to be, is because of the time players have already put in, the game being so familiar, and there always being a constant flow of returning players, while others leave for a few months...

TLDR: Whats the best MMORPG to play as of right now with great PvP, great combat system, grea flow of players, great housing system.

Wow! I played SWG for a bit too. I was one of the fastest to reach max level on my server. Only problem was.... I went POLEARM. Imagine running after someone that has a gun.... only having a stick! lol
Naw, in reality I had some AT-ST and some other things following me around, as well as some bad-ass guild members.

I remember this so called "update" that killed the game... but for me it was long before anyone could become a Jedi. It was the update that made those Flamethrowers so overpowered that they could come in and steamroll 5 players all at once. This happened, I was pissed, I quit. Do not regret it.

Here are some really old screenshots:

I went back to playing Everquest for a couple years after that... Which is still the best game of all time. ***** WoW*

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes was THE best MMORPG until it flopped at the End Game raid content. It was such a shame.

If I were to play MMORPG again, it will be this:
https://pantheonmmo.com/

Considering the game changing release of Everquest (which was the main influence behind WoW) and one of the greatest game visions (Vanguard)... I'm pretty much open to anything Brad McQuaid creates. His only problem in the past was his business dealing with Sony Online Entertainment. If Pantheon can be pulled off as stated... it should be amazing.

Stick with WoW and come server xfer and play with me. WoW has the largest player base, the most robust world and you can always count on new content.

MMO's are all about who you play with. If you play alone all the time, the game will get stale. It's about your team, man.

The guild i run with is 7/7M EN, 3/3H ToV AND I run an RBG team (1850 Rated last season, 1700 CR) about two nights per week.

Basically, we're always doing team based content together and that's what makes the game fun. Whether it's M+, Raiding, BG's or RBG's.

Awesome screen-shots man. Brings back some GREAT memorys. I honestly believe SWG was by-far WAY ahead of its time, and still dont think any game comes close to the depth that game had if you really appreciated the social aspect of the game in terms of raids/player citys etc. Or how awesome it was to see a jedi, something that was rare as hell.

Ahh the AT-ST i spent quite a while farming for that. My older brothers friend mastered almost every profession in the game to get his jedi holocron, didnt get it till the very 2nd to last profession if you remember that whole "had to master random classes to found out which unlocked your holocron" etc. So much awesomeness.

And I loved the guild screen-shot. Guild meeting days.. I remember one time, we had a rival guild, same planet, and we sat outside there guild hall and hid, and of course on that game its hard to tell, and we blew em all up because we were all flagged from a previous battle at their rebel base.

I heard though that they are making a game like SWG once was, according the one of the lead developers from BioWare or Lucas, forget which one.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...ome-in-New-MMO

Those are some links, saying their will be an MMO that SwG players would "feel at home".. Have you heard anything about this?

I am waiting for this one too. I'm hoping Brad brings some of the old EQ and Vanguard back to gaming. Where encounters where challenging and not just AE bombing a bunch of stuff till it dies.

Problem is that Pantheon is a super low budget game, I mean they are just barely keeping it together, so I don't know if or when it will ever be finished.

Everything else out there right now is F2P / P2W which I can't stand. I would happily pay a $50 sub fee for a game if it meant balanced combat where PVP doesn't affect PVE and vice versa, with updates that fix stuff instead of break it, and new content even if just a new dungeon every few months not counting legit expacs. And no cash shops for anything other than appearance items.

Too bad that business model won't make money with today's gamers. We will honestly never see the "good o'le days" of MMOing again.

its funny though, because I was horde for probably all the way up till Mists.. Went 11/12 on lich as a GM, 12/12 woulda been alot better, but was a fun time back then....

I've been playing Revelation Online. It's still in the closed beta's but it's on the 3rd one next week. Then Open beta and release so you'd catch the start of the game.

Although it may not quite be a MMORPG, you might check out Ark Survival Evolved on you tube
