Watching the quarterbacks
Among the 3 quarterbacks on the roster, the guy who threw the ball best on Thursday was Brady Quinn. He appears to have solid mechanics in his drop and has smoothed out some rough edges that were visible in his motion going back to Notre Dame. Matt Cassel threw several nice passes, but he was high on his throws during much of the session. Ricky Stanzi was OK. @Iowa homers.

“I think they’re beginning to gain a command of the system and some of the checks that we have in place,” Crennel said. “They’re all doing well. Probably, Brady and Matt are a little ahead of Stanzi right now, but they’re all working at it. They’re a good group in that room, so we feel good about them.”

The point is, Brodie was a 3rd rounder, not a 1st like Quinn.

The point is Croyle started 10 games and we know he sucks, even without the injury tag. Quinn has proven nothing positive in his time in the league. The three wins he has as a starter are all like the Cassel win over SD to start 2010. When the Browns were able to take Quinn out of the game, they won. Denver didn't like him any better. They passed him over in 2010 and 2011 with Tim Tebow. Quinn = fail

Again, Croyle was a 3rd rounder. 1st round QBs should get at least 3 seasons.

David Carr got 5 seasons in Houston.

Their body of work should count more than where they were drafted. Good Lord, what a reach.

Proof is in the pudding and the numbers don't lie. Quinn, at this point in time has a WORSE QB Rating than Croyle. That is fact.


The fact that he is a first rounder should give you, your first clue, that the Browns wanted him to succeed and gave him chances to succeed.

Nothing wrong with supporting a player, but some of you are so desperate for a QB, you're not looking at the facts.

... and yet, TWO NFL teams already walked away from him and the third team put him on a one year deal.

Great, you like him and see him as the franchise QB of the future.

When they play like dogshit and have a worse QB rating than Croyle, I'm not hitching my wagon to that. You choose to, fine by me, I'm just trying to point out some facts hoping some of it will hit home with a few reasonable thinkers.
