Where you at, Overhead? I tried to dig up your last GnR thread, but with no search function... meh. Anyway...

Holy shit...

Not bad at all. I'm a bit surprised. I really like it. (And usually it takes me a few listens.)

I think the one of the best things about it, is that you don't really get to hear much music like this anymore.

(Yes, I did download it... but I'll buy it. I'm a bit of a GnR geek.)

It is a pretty good release. I did not think that it would be worth a damn, but it is much better than I had expected it to be. The title track is more than decent. I figured that Axl would have overdone it after working on it so long. I heard that he was a perfectionist, so with all of this time going by he would make it way too much, but not as far as I can tell.

I just got Chinese Democracy today. I listened to it once all the way through, and to tell you the truth, its not too shabby. Its definately nothing like the GnR of old, but still better than most of the crap music out there today. Axl's voice isn't as bad as most people made it out to be, just not as dynamic as before. I like Buckethead's playing. I've never really heard any of his work. He can flat out wail without getting too self indulgent. After hearing all the songs, I would have to say that "Catcher in the Rye" is the best of the bunch so far.

I ****ing love this album. It took me a few months to really appreciate it all, but the more I listened to it the more I love it and the brilliance of it. I don't give a **** about the haters. This is a masterpiece. Buckethead kills it on his parts for guitar just awesome.


Any whoo. There is a bit of Axl news about him getting robbed after a show in Paris. Some $200,000. worth of jewlery was stolen.

At first This I Love was my favorite song on it, now every damn song is my favorite. It's a phenomenal album & it introduced me to my favorite guitarist Buckethead who on his own or who ever he plays with is above and beyond any guitarist out there.

To say it's not GNR well, Slash & Duff & even Matt Sorum couldn't have put out anything near as good and call it GNR with Axl Rose. The new guitarist were hired guns and Axl puts the Rose into it.
