Car repair - brakes buzzing

Help. I could really use the Planet's vast knowledge right about now.

I have a 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe 3.5L. I just replaced the rotors and brake pads on the front. It was driving fine and the brakes were working fine. But the ABS and TCS lights were on for some reason.

A little while later the wife started driving it and the brakes were kind of grinding. Well, not grinding. More like buzzing. It also lost most braking power. The ABS and TCS lights were no longer on.

I have taken everything apart and put it back together again a couple of additional times and still can't find the problem.

This seems to be an intermittent problem. It doesn't always happen right away. But almost always seems to show up if I stop, turn off the engine, and then start it up and drive again.

Is this something I can fix or should I take it to my mechanic? I am okay with basic repairs but don't have the tools or know how for anything more complex.

Frontend collision
Airbag deployed
Engine replaced
Possible structural damage

He also shows me a report from another service (Carcheck maybe?) that says nothing has happened to it. The title is clean, so its not salvaged. So I have several questions.

1. Is it possible for a car to have been totaled by an insurance company and still have a clean title?
2. How much does it usually cost to have a body shop check a car for structural damage?

I mean, for the engine to have been replaced and the airbag to deploy, it had to be a fairly serious accident, no?
So it must be pretty cheap then.

One thing to consider is if you get it, the back end when trying to sell it. Chances are someone is going to lowball you or run from the ad as fast as they can.

My buddy had a Acura TSX(?), got it cheap because of a frame issue. , tried selling it private party for 8 moths at market value...nothing. Ended up selling it for about 3k less than market.

do they not have a guy there that knows about cars? geesh this ****ing country is full of airheads... "ready to help" though.

"A" for effort america. JFC

Take it to a mechanic you trust. Then, if the thing is not a bent mess, tell the guy it's a bent mess and steal it from him -- It's the new "american way".

Yes, apparently all from the same incident. And that's kind of what I was thinking about it not being a salvaged title. Is it possible for a totaled car to have a clean title?

I did think about that. The dealer has it priced about $5K under value just to move it. So that would definitely carry over to me when I would sell it. I'm thinking I'll just pass.

oops, take it to a brake shop. There's a reason only some shops have a license to fix brakes...
