Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I watched "The Third Man" today for the first time. I enjoyed it a lot. It is on NetFlix instant if anyone was curious.

It is a great noir classic. It also has a great line that I am sure many of you know already... the cuckoo clock line under the ferris wheel.

I gave it a 4/5, but would like to have given it a 4.5/5.
Downloading "Kiss Me Deadly" the 1955 original. I will watch it tonight or tomorrow maybe. I am on a classic film kick at the moment.

After you see it, read the wiki entry on the main character and all the newspaper/magazine articles that are sourced. Pretty interesting stuff and apparently the guy was a lot more crazy/sad in real life.

Finally watched Dark City. That was a fantastic Blu Ray, and a good flick.

I thought it was terrible. Poorly-directed, out-of-touch, contemptuous, marred by wooden acting (apart from Mo'nique).

I caught The Third Man a few days ago myself. Pretty good film.

Next for me is Judgement At Nurenberg, Miller's Crossing and Dead Poet's Society (which I've seen a bunch of times, but not for probably 10 years).
