Grab a bucket of popcorn, take a comfortable seat, and get a look at this: Warchant just took an epic shot at FSU's president, and it almost looks like I wrote the damned thing. FSU's president was stupid, he had his facts wrong and went into too much detail, so he's getting picked apart, the dumb bastard. The title of the article is deceptively mild, because you can almost feel the exasperated frustration and anger lurking beneath the words.

Barron's pro-ACC points are debatable.

early, hilarious, money quote:

Quote:
Barron's memo was so unorthodox that many fans originally thought it was a hoax. Warchant.com confirmed that the memo came from the president's office.

Pretty poorly written, honestly. #2 is laughable in its presentation.

He definitely needs to run spellcheck and grammarcheck. I mean, come on. I check every post and sometimes have edits to clean up my grammar.

Oh Jesus... Dr. Barron... stop. Just.... stop.

This is behind a paywall (tallahassee.com if for some strange reason you've got a subscription to that) that I haven't paid to see behind, but he gave yet another interview after his e-mail today. He is going to get rolled. Here's the freebie portion I got:

Quote:
“I have no idea what the next few weeks or even days will bring,” Barron said. “I know I have alumni irritated because they think I made up my mind. What I am trying to say is this is not some simple thing.

“It’s amazing how many people will say to me, ‘You don’t understand. If you go to the Big 12, Clemson will go with you and so will Miami and you can play them.’

“How do you know that? How can you say that? This is quite complicated. I have no idea how people will react to what I said, but I’m just trying to get the facts out there.

Just saw the full article, and its clear he's trying to backtrack and be more diplomatic now about a change.

Great, he is saying all the correct, nice things now (when he should have probably been saying nothing), but he can't un-say that the Big 12 is weak academically. Barron probably needs to resign before FSU can be admitted.

Seems Barron has forgotten rule number one concerning holes; when you're in one, stop digging.

Why would he try to un-say the Big 12 is weak academically? It absolutely is the weakest of the five main conferences, and that matters to university big wigs that make these decisions.

Meanwhile, Kansas Dean of Engineering just became the Vice-Chancellor & Provost @ LSU.
