I actually don't know what happens in that situation, if a player had changed teams in between a suspended game. Could he even be allowed to play when it resumed? No idea.
I’ve read yes, and that technically, a pitcher could earn the win and the loss in the same game this way (which is a bucket list item for me to see).

I sometimes overlook him because of his age, but Brewer Hicklen went 3-3 with 3 HR in last night’s game for Wilmington (at Wilmington’s home park, Fraley).

He has 5 HR in his past 3 games, all at Fraley. That’s a feat.

On the season, he’s .271/.376/.446 with 38 SB and 14 HR. 138 K, though.

He’s not young for the level - 23 is pretty average for High-A - but that’s still an impressive overall line.

Maybe he's on the Whit Merrifield path to becoming a big leaguer.

Merrifield was never this good in the low minors, but yeah, Hicklen could be that sort of under-the-radar pop-up who becomes a good pro.

He’s really fast and is a great athlete (went to UAB to play football - WR - and basketball) so it’s a good profile if he can make enough contact.

Will be fun to watch next year.

After I said that I looked up his stats and damn he's been good. Only one hiccup, a handful of games at A+ at the end of last year. Why haven't they promoted him to AA? He's proven he can handle A+.

Maybe Hicklen can have a talk with his teammates (Pratto, Melendez, and the again injured Matias) on how to not completely suck ass.

That’s it. They value the playoff experience and extended seasons more than a month at the next level.

His road splits are even more exciting:
.293/.380/.479

Or tell them how much easier it was the second-go round, and how he learned and adjusted to have success.

He was there for a small stint last year and slashed .211/.263/.573 in 22 games (with a 37% K rate)

The Lexington Legends have had quite a season, and they are likely headed for the postseason. One of the players who has been successful for the Kansas City Royals’ Class A affiliate is Brewer Hicklen.

Brewer Hicklen caught the attention of MLB Pipeline by hitting home runs in back to back games. The outfielder, who currently resides with the Lexington Legends, has been performing well for the Kansas City Royals A ball affiliate.

By the Numbers

Brewer Hicklen played with both the Wilmington Blue Rocks and the Lexington Legends throughout the course of the 2018 season. He played with the Legends from April 22 to July 18 before he was optioned down to Wilmington for a month, and then he returned to the Legends on August 15.

In 78 games with the Lexington Legends, Hicklen is slashing .308/.374/.555. The 2017 seventh round draft pick out of Alabama-Birmingham has hit 17 home runs on the year, 16 of those coming with the Legends.

Brewer Hicklen sits in the number 21 spot on MLB Pipeline’s list of Top 30 prospects within the Kansas City Royals organization. Overall on the season, his slash sits at .289/.353/.507, which is still fairly decent. There is no doubt that he is thriving with the Lexington Legends, and he has been instrumental in their successful last month of play.

He grades out as an overall 45 grade player, with running as his strongest suit. The righty has improved tremendously throughout the 2018 season, so hopefully that bodes well for the future.

When will he make his MLB debut?

MLB Pipeline predicts he will first appear in the Major Leagues in 2021. Because the Kansas City Royals have a lot of good young outfield talent, that seems like an accurate ballpark estimate of when he will get the call up.

Start your application process by filling out the fields below

Brewer Hicklen is a player to keep your eye on as he moves through the farm system. As the youth movement takes over, he may stand a chance to play a large outfield role for the Kansas City Royals in the coming years.

.211/.263 would be a huge improvement for a trio that can't even hit .200 (Pratto is the best at around .187) and strikes out roughly 45% of the time.

I'm willing to bet at least 1 of the two(Melendez, Matias) turns it around next year. I'm not sure why Pratto gets lumped in with those guys. Yeah he was a first round pick, but he hasn't really had a great season (OPS over .800) and if the only thing he can do is play 1B, then I'm not too hopeful that he will have a productive big league career if he can't have over a .800 OPS in the minors.

Another thing to consider about Matias and Melendez is that they are only 20 years old and Hicklen is 23 and it's the 2nd season he's been there.

Now if Melendez and Matias do the same thing next year, then I'd say it's pretty safe to say they are non prospects.
