IG Report imminent....6/14/2018

This could be a huge dud. It could be a huge bombshell. I think it will most likely validate a lot of what has already been speculated on vis-a-vis Comey, Strzok, McCabe, etc.

It will be interesting to see who, if anyone, is referred for criminal charges. I think we know McCabe might be a given for perjury at the least and very possibly obstruction of justice.

I speculate we will get validation that the Hillary Clinton e-mail case was handled improperly and for various political reasons. My hunch is it all started with going easy on her based on the assumption she would be elected. As that came more and more into question, more cover ups had to start being thrown out. The proverbial snowball of lies, if you will. You told one, then you have to tell two to cover the one, then you have to tell 4 to cover the last 3, etc., etc.

  • No proof that bias is the reason why Clinton didn't get charged.
  • No proof that Comey's **** ups were due to bias. He might just have been an incompetent, or an asshole, or an incompetent asshole.

So, people get tossed under the bus, but without suggestion of criminal charges, and the FBI is protected, because the IG's investigative powers are limited, because the IG is deliberately protecting the people and the Bureau, or because of both.

Some jobs might be lost, but some of those under scrutiny have reportedly already moved on.
Not sure how you can read some of the texts and emails and conclude that bias had no impacts on decisions?

The key to answering your question lies in the wording of the report, which notes the absence of testimonial or documentary evidence. In other words, anyone who did use the bias to impact their work (assuming such a person exists) didn't leave a written trail and didn't admit to it if/when questioned.

Right. There's plenty of evidence of bias and justification for suspicions that it had an impact.

Oh I know. This is like telling someone to ignore the fact the sky is blue because no one of import actually wrote such in an email or text.

Absolutely. They've got the equivalent of "Let's make sure she gets off" emails, but they've got no follow ups to prove those emails were taken seriously and acted upon.

The FBI (and the IG for that matter) is taking a pretty good beating over the report, from a lot of people who are taking the time to work it over.

Except that she did get off despite clearly violating her oath of office and federal laws for handling classified information. She also in plain sight admitted her guilt.

But the final decision not to prosecute was not theirs. The investigators can't be held accountable for that. They can only be held accountable for what happened, and didn't happen, on their end of things.

Loretta Lynch did an interview on 60 Minutes and said that James Comey I made his announcement with no consultation from the Department of Justice. He was actually phrased and not buy lunch that Comey usurped that Authority from the attorney general. Bottom line it's not the FBI's decision to prosecute, that's up to the Department of Justice.
