How is that different from her "O" face?

I really have to catch up on this show thru Netflix streaming. The reviews I read are Soprono-like.

It is a great show with very few "throwaway" episodes.

A+ acting and A+ story.

Did anyone else think for a second that Walt was going to kill Jesse while he was handcuffed?

It sucks Gus is gone, but thankfully this means we have Saul in the picture for the rest of the series.
For just a split second I thought Jessie was done when Walt walked into the lab, but he has went to great lengths to protect him, and even mumbled his name when he was high on pain killers while Junior was taking care of him. To me he obviously cares for Jessie. But I bet the writers turn the screw hard on that theory next year.

I know that I will never watch a TV episode of any kind that was as good as that. Ever.
The acting on this show is at such a high level, that i personally don't know how it will ever be equaled. I am a TV junkie, and have watched everything out there, and the intensity that these actors create with very little dialogue is just amazing. And The Wire fans can flame away, but for me, this is probably the best combination of writing and acting that I have seen.

To me The Wire is like a novel and Breaking Bad is like a short story. Both can be great, but they're different. Breaking Bad is more about telling the story of characters in a particular span of time- how they react and deal with a particular situation. The Wire is broader in scope.

Given all the references to The Wire in this thread, I think I will start on that series now that Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are on hiatus.

This is an excellent, and I believe accurate, post that sums up how both shows are great, but different in scope. I hope that in light of my prior remarks, which may have been inflammatory in nature towards Breaking Bad, I am allowed back ITT when the next BB season starts.

For the people who are starting The Wire in the off season, you should be pleased, but it's more of a time commitment. Those episodes are a full hour long, no commercials. I'm halfway through the 3rd season and am loving it. Bump the "The Wire Fans" thread with your thoughts.

Think BB season 5 will start August 2012, or are we looking at more towards the end of 2012? Also, I think I read that they signed on for a final 20 episodes, not necessarily a final season. So it will most likely be 2 seasons before it's over, right? Maybe a 14 and a 6?
