Pressey from three point stripe this season: 5 for 36. That's around 14%. So why is he chucking up three's ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS on the road trying to tie or win games? Same thing over and over and over again. I put a lot of this on Haith. Pressey should be on the bench in the last minute of a tight game. Let Bell run the point. He's a better clutch player, much better free throw shooter too.

Crunch time five should pretty obviously be Oriakhi, Bowers, Brown, Ross, Bell. Only one absolute liability in a clutch situation (Brown).

Yes.

Pressey had a trifecta of back-breaking fail yesterday:
1. Poor shot selection (3) ignites TN run.
2. Cannot inbound the ball, all the while with 2 timeouts to spare.
3. Catches air to end the game.

2 and 3 are so ridiculously bad that point shaving absolutely has to factor into the analysis.

The kid simply cannot be allowed to see the floor at the end of games. And I'm totally in agreement with the notion that I'd bench him for the first game, at least, of the conference tournament. If that means one and done, so what?

Perhaps. I'd need to know the conversation before that last 3-ball. Did Pressey overtly disregard a set play? Or was this simply yet another example of horrendous instincts?

If it's the former, then insubordination cannot be tolerated, while the latter is simply worthy of littering his ass with splinters.

I don't care what his rationale is, he's done it so many times this year that he's obviously incapable of learning from short benchings.

My thoughts: if you poison your relationship with him and he leaves, then that's great, because then you open up a scholarship and you don't have him killing your team in the final minutes. If he learns from it, all the better, as he has the talent to be a very productive college player.

It's obvious that just pulling him for stupid shots, as has happened over the last month, doesn't get through to him, nor does growing and obvious media criticism. So escalate the situation.
