Smith, Flowers, and Cooper are pretty good but they're no McCleon, Bartee, and Warfield.

Cooper isn't a shut down corner. I like the guy quite a bit but, he hasn't even started a game.

Richard Sherman was a 5th round pick

he wasnt a shutdown corner either when he first entered. And plenty of teams passed on him in the draft.

Cooper has the tools, like Sherman, to be coached up as a shut down corner in the right scheme. This is the perfect scheme for him to learn in.

And I can also flip your argument and say Eric Fisher does not look like a franchise blindside pro bowl Left Tackle of the future let alone a barely plug in right tackle. Ill take what I am seeing from UDFA Cooper any day over what our first round pick is currently giving us. Especially when you compare contracts.

Sherman's not a shut down corner. Teams throw at him every week. He's not like Deion, Champ, or Revis in their primes. He got dusted by TY Hilton yesterday. It would be great if Cooper became the next Sherman. I would be ecstatic if he became as good as Carr.

I see some very good things from Fisher. I have seen a lot more of Fisher than I have of Cooper.

We need to keep Cooper out wide in sideline coverage while he learns.

It was so hard to find LTs that only three were taken with the first four picks.

There are Tackles everywhere. We could re-sign Albert easier than we could replace Cooper...especially if we didn't have Fisher's contract to worry about. Fisher is replacement level right now. Cooper looks like Revis.

Things can and do change, but this kid has been repeatedly targeted, and he hasn't given up a thing.

Not only Cooper, but if Sean Smith continues to excel as well, then a major position of need becomes a strength.

It will make a huge difference on offense, actually, because we won't need to find another cover guy in the draft or free agency. All of those resources can go towards getting a WR and TE.

Didnt Sherman just basically win a game for his team two weeks ago? That's exactly what a shut down corner does. Turns the tide of the game.

And Sherman wasnt necessarily getting beat by TY Hilton and more so by his former Stanford teammate Andrew Luck, who is just smarter and better than him, and knows where to expose most match ups and put the ball. But Andrew Luck does that to a lot of people, so it makes sense that he knows a former college teammates biggest weaknesses. That's just being logical.

but no?

where were you the last four years when the guys on the depth chart in Coopers position were scrubs Donald Washington, Jalil Brown, Jacques Reeves, Dequan Menzie, Javier Arenas, and terrible depth like that, that could never step up and play half of what Cooper is doing on a Sunday. And we actually wasted draft picks on some of those guys to fill the same void Cooper is, but they were doing it horribly.

if the last four years tells us anything, it IS hard to find a guy like Cooper

Shut down corners shut down the other teams best receiver. That's why they are called shut down corners. Andre Johnson had 9 catches for 110 yards dude.

I love Cooper and think he's great! I like Parker too! What the ****? I literally don't agree that Cooper is Revis and I get killed for it?

It's the same thing about Fisher. If you think he's just a "plug and play player" you're an idiot.

This is a really dumb conversation.
