If not #1, where?

The draftniks keep saying that Geno Smith isn't worth the #1 pick.
None of them say he isn't the top QB in the class though.
If we don't take him at #1 how far is he realistically going to fall?

I see no scenario where he falls out of the Top 10.

So if he's the top QB in a weak class...
QB is our biggest need...
And he's gonna go Top 10 anyway...

Why not at #1?

Am I wrong to say he won't fall out of the Top 10?

Mike Glennon and Matt Barkley are the guys who could be picked in round 2 if one is there.

If you think Reid is not going to consider one of those guys you're crazy. Both played in a pro style West Coast offense.

And the accuracy concerns around Glennon are not justified. You put any QB in college on that NC State offense and they completing below 60% just like Glennon.

If Reid likes Wilson or Geno he would be a lunatic to wait and hope one of the two of these guys drops. It's very possible they don't. Bills could go all Syracuse and draft Nassib and then have the Jets take Glennon. Boom, then you are praying for Barkley to survive 20 picks or you lose all the guys that you liked just to get more "value" by waiting to get a QB.

I agree. But if Reid doesn't go QB in the 1st it's not likely he will in the second either. There's a strong possibility that Reid will give Cassel a chance. Andy Reid's system offense is very QB friendly. Guys like Feeley and Garcia won 9 out of 11 games under his system. Let's look at Cassel for a minute though. After adjusting to a new offense, in his second year, he lead the chiefs to a 10-6 record. In 2011, Jamal Charles went down, and that, among other things, contributed to a modest 7-9 season. 2012 he had to adjust to a new offense....and the record speaks for itself. Why would Cassel work under Reid? Simple: System QB.

Guys like Schaub ( and to an extent, Flacco) are System QBs. You won't see Schaub drop back 40 times, to try to come back from a deficit in order to win you a game. Dude needs his play action and the threat of the run to prosper. A better example, and the epitome of a system quarterback, would be Alex Smith. Look at that guy pre and post Harbaugh. So chances are, Reid will roll with Cassel, and draft a guy like Dysert (Who's already running a West Coast like offense) in the mid rounds to back Cassel up. But then again that's all in theory.

Sometimes an RBI or an in the park Homerun is just as good as trying to hit a 500 ft solo HR off an Aroldis Chapman 100+ MPH fastball lol.

You don't know shit about Matt Cassel.

Just shut the **** up.

If Andy Reid thinks he can win with Matt Cassel, he needs to be fired yesterday.

Matt Cassel sucks ass, and anyone suggesting that he's an NFL calibre starter in any system sucks Matt Cassel's ass.

Dude. No. Matt Cassel is a terrible quarterback in any system. He didn't "lead" anyone to anything. He has no physical skills and no mental skills. There was a reason he wasn't drafted. He does nothing well, he's awful in every way.

You are ****ing ****ed up if you honestly think Andy Reid will bring back and start one of the worst QBs in the NFL.

This is a horrible post.

The offense that Cassel ran this year was an E/P system using the same terminology as Weis. The difference being a ZB scheme emphasized for the run as opposed to a typical power-cheme for the E/P.

Cassel has been in the Erhardt-Perkins his whole ****ing career.

Chances are he'd crash and burn even ****ing worse in a West Coast system because it requires extreme timing and accuracy even on short routes.

As we have seen many times, Cassel's short accuracy can even be dog shit. The pass might be completed but forget about YAC.

He also sucks balls throwing on the run so good luck with that in the WCO.

I can't believe there are people out there that have watched Matt Cassel for the last 4 years and think he has even the smallest shred of NFL talent, or that a different coach/scheme/o-line will all of the sudden make him even as good as the worst starter in the NFL.

The fans would revolt again if Cassell was allowed to return as starter. No way this happens considering Clark just put out one fire with Pioli. Anyone who suggest that Cassell may return was not around this forum over the last few months. All the high ups including Reid know that Cassell is simply not an option due to the fallout.

Yep. Not to mention the WCO requires quick decision making and going through progressions quickly...something Matt Casshole can't do because he's terrible.
