Do you have skills to build your own? If you do go with NewEgg and Pricewatch. If you want it built for you, I recommend www.cyberpowerinc.com

The following are components you do not want to skimp on:
Power Supply Motherboard Memory If you plan on doing some video editing or much mixing with your PC you'll want quite a bit of memory - 1 GB at least IMO. Memory makers have been putting a lot of bad product on the shelf in recent years. So look up some utilities like memtest86 and familiarize yourself with how they work. Odds are decent that you'll have to send your memory back. Look up reviews on all of the components you are considering. You can potentially make this cheaper by figuring out if there are parts you can cannibalize from your old PC. One thing that was important to me for the last machine I built was to have a quiet PC. You'll have to look at the decibel output levels to know how quiet certain products really are. They can get away with labeling something "quiet" that's noisy as hell. I paid a premium for a quiet power supply and CPU cooling fan.

KC Jones,
What brands would you recommend for memory?

Yeah, I don't think that would work in my PC. I'll have to check when I get home but, I'm pretty sure that's not the right ram for mine.
