There are all sorts of stats about the forum buried in the Admin CP. I'd love to make those available to everyone, but I haven't really found an add-on that does it well. But, I'm a stats geek, so I might bump this thread from time to time with useless tidbits that I find interesting.

The short answer is, "yep." We had a total of 850,617 posts in 2008. As of today, we are currently 206,939 posts AHEAD of where we were last year at this time. So, unless something really weird happens and we actually have a dramatically lower post rate this season, we should blow by the million mark easily.

I don't think so, unfortunately. All of my reports are aggregated by the day, so I'll be able to tell what DAY we go over the mark, but not the specific POST.

Well, for what it's worth, here's the latest chart:



Basically, we've picked up at almost the exact same pace we were at last year. However, we had a huge offseason, so we're currently up nearly 200k posts from this point last year.

We're also WAY up in the number of actual users logging in on an average day. This year, we averaged 943 users per day in September compared to only 767 last year.

It'll be interesting to see how the team's performance impacts Planet activity from here on out.

FWIW, I figured out how to do this. I basically traced back to the last post of last year:

So, all we have to do is add a million to the post ID, and we should get a link directly to the millionth post of the year. I'll have to keep an eye on where we're at to be able to tell when it happens, but this link will eventually lead us to the big "winner."
