Not a shock at all, but then again, I live in STL - so it's been a point of discussion for years.
Hiring Devaney last offseason was the first of many moves to get them back to respectability - getting Zygmunt and John Shaw's hands out of football operations will make a HUGE difference, IMO. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/spo...7?OpenDocument |

The hot rumor in northern Florida is that there is a race between the Rams and Jags to see who can get to LA first. Both have serious stadium issues as well as a tough time selling tickets.
While doing work in Jax last summer i even heard it thrown out that if the Rams go back to LA the Jags would look to move to St. Louis. Anyway the Rams have a lot of issues for the front office to deal with and I don't think that an outside GM would want all those headaches. |

I think the Chiefs job, at present, is a better job than the STL job.
Ownership in STL is still very much up in the air. Nobody's really sure if STL will stay in St. Louis (as outlined above). If they do stay, the fanbase is incredibly fickle, their stadium sucks and they have even less in the cupboard than we do, with some equally onerous contracts. We oughta be able to beat out STL for the top guy (Doug Whaley...) |

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Kansas City is a much better situation to be in than St. Louis. Your fanbase is far more stable, they have more pieces in place, and the ownership is more friendly to management.
