I "believe" the banning thing came from the mods. I'm not sure what to make of that if it's the case. I have no problem with any mod it just seems odd. I guess it would be easier to not have to deal with a few people so... whatever.

At least I lost heh.

edit.... makes more sense after reading Flopnuts post in the OP.

My take on the bans:

I think it is a good idea, otherwise people will just try and win the douche contest for "fun."

If there comes some kind of badge of shame from it, then people maybe won't 'try' and win it so much..

I have put the beat down on many here and I have taken my share as well... I have been here when my Raiders won and when they got their ass beat...

I really do want to win this award though, I consider it an honor to be a thorn in the ass of a rival fan.
Good enough reason not to vote for you troll. We all know your a giant douche but don't need a poll to exemplify your existance on earth.

I don't care if you get banned or not, won't change my mind of what big douche you are. So congratulations on your achievement as a rival fan, for the doucheness you bring out of yourself for what you are.

Mods should not be white knights for everyone. Temp banning people in hopes that they will change the way they post or for vindication for someone who hasn't learned to stand up for themselves is not what this place is about. Things are changing, and change is good. However, I don't think it should be "controlled." It's my understanding that this is why people left the old KC Star board and created this place.

How about a compromise. Make the ban a day so as to not look like the fan voted douche is not being overly oppressed?

People left the Star because it took 24-48 hours to get any kind of moderating at all. Then when the moderators did show up they just banned everybody involved and deleted every thread that wasn't football related. Denise became friendly with the Star gal who was responsible for moderation and things usually went however Denise said they should go. The Star didn't have a user/moderator. This person was an employee with other responsibilities so they just deleted all the headaches rather than dealing with them.

Like coming in fourth, in our division? Regardless of Babb's article, I'm so ****ing glad Haley's gone! How many players want to listen to a golfer?

I see, so over moderation and trying to change the way people express themselves must be the answer? I don't get what your "experiment" is all about. Alas, there's nothing I can do about it, no matter what I say.
