Zack Snyder to direct next Superman film

Nolan and Zack Snyder, definitely an interesting team. There are already rumors now that Zod is going to be the villain.

I have to say I'm excited that it "appears" they aren't going to go totally out of left field and do something stupid and out of character for .

I have a feeling that since Lex Luthor is a lover of Metropolis and two aliens just destroyed the city, there will be enough motivation to establish Lex Luthor for part two.

Another one, and this was just a plot head-scratcher, Have the military deal with the world machine since all it apparently took was him flying through it to destroy it. I have a hard time believing the entire might of the worlds military couldn't have dealt with that. This would leave to deal with the much more pressing matter of conservatively 10's of thousands of people dying in Metropolis. (Not to mention all the people flying a suicide mission to deliver his escape pod rather than him just doing it himself faster than the speed of sound)

Also, if the argument is he isn't yet, fine. I disagree with that rationale, but fine. Then who IS he? I had no idea by the end of the film. I saw practically no defining traits or genuinely human moments from him (or practically anyone else in the film). He was a cardboard cut out.

You weren't going to like this movie from the outset I see. What you're saying makes no sense. Why risk that "Hey why don't I fly away and have them chase me when they know my weakness to save humanity? Yeah they'll follow me for sure. That's a great idea Kal! Good job me!"

Also they were military and aren't stupid. They would realize what he's doing even if he subtly tried to move from the city a mile at a time. This isn't some broken AI from a video game, these are military elite. Don't be dense.

Wait...there's more. The entire might of the world's military? SERIOUSLY? Like they could all scramble such a force in minutes. WTF is wrong with you? Also he overcame his weakness through great will to be able to stand and still have the power to fly fast enough to pierce that World Engine. IIRC he was at bottom of that light where it had terraformed Earth the most into Krypton. What he did there was something the remaining Kryptonians and Zod could never do. Kal-El was born naturally with the ability to do and be anything and his will wasn't isolated to one purpose. And people from Earth trying to do what they can to save it? UNHEARD OF! They all need to be screaming like the Japanese do when Godzilla comes to town. Like idiots. You wanted this to be a complete domination by and would make this yet another stinker in a long list of such films. Stick to Marvel please.

Just saw it and must say I thought it was pretty good. I didn't have near as much issue with the pacing or flashbacks as it appears many of you did.

The most important thing they did for me in this film was make a /Clark Kent that I could actually like. I really can't stand the character in any incarnation, be it the comics or cartoons; but I REALLY liked this one. I think that might have had everything to do with Cavill, though. That dude is just a stud. I felt like I really felt his emotion in the intense scenes

I don't really feel like typing much more at the moment but I thought pretty much every character was well-acted, particularly Jor-El and Zod. The action scenes were top-notch also. I'd definitely recommend the movie.

This is where I'm at. I hated the boy scout character that was basically a God.

Once the story changes to a troubled guy that has his weaknesses the character is easier to relate to and more enjoyable.

I'll wait to d/l or rent but I'll definitely be checking it out...
