Yes that.
And also the scene where he meets little Forrest. Right before he goes to sit down, he asks jenny if the boy is smart, or slow like is - but can't find the words to communicate his fear for the boy's well-being. The self awareness and tom hanks acting in that scene, and the grave scene, make me choke up hard.

For me Requiem For A Dream was the furthest end of a spectrum.
You follow 3 characters. They make bad choices. You KNOW bad things will happen. The film slowly documents the complete destruction of the human soul. In four different people. Slowly. That's the best way I can describe it. It's the best portrait of addiction I've ever seen...

Sophie's choice, particularly after having children. The ascend where she has to choose which of her children is taken away by the Nazis is gut-wrenching.

The Notebook.
If I start trying to discuss the ending I'll simply end up a blubbering pool of tears, so I won't. |

Willem Dafoe dying in Platoon
Mufasa's death in Lion King Wade dying and crying for his mom in Saving Private Ryan- also agree with the knife scene The Superman scene in Iron Giant The Boy in the Striped Pajamas ending Littlefoots mom dying in the Land Before Time - he thinks his shadow is her The old people in bed together when the ship goes down in Titanic. Also putting the kids to bed Nick killing himself in Deer Hunter Ending of Into the Wild where they showed the actual photograph of the main character next to the bus Agree with Artax dying in the Neverending Story I am also reminded by reading this thread that Tom Hanks is the man |
