Tight End Options For A Needy Chiefs Team
I thought it would be a decent idea to put in a thread specifically for this position, given how bad it was during the exhibition games. I'll start the ball rolling with a player that Haley is familiar with:

You know, we could solve this problem completely by drafting Gresham next year.

This city continues to have an irrational love of the tight end position. There are far greater needs on this team.

IMO Pope could be an upgrade over all of them. Ryan, Cottam and O'Donnell range from terrible to really bad.

Ryan can help and start for now but we need help there. Cottam is a tall twig who can't block. O'connell is more of and Hback as is Crabtree who i think they want to put on the ps and develop.
If we don't find a replacement for Mike Cox i'm gonna be pissed.

He's tall and he can't catch the ball, but Cottam is no twig.

Yes poor choice of wording on my part. I'm just pissed he hasn't developed as a blocker being 270 lbs. He never seems to be aware when they throw his way either. Overall just dissapointed in a talented prospect. I think he ran like 4.7 40. Maybe they will keep him just inactive on game days and see if he comes along like Morgan has in the last few weeks.

The Pats have done pretty well without much at tight end. You don't really need a stud TE. You DO need guys who can block. But in terms of receiving, you can just as easily run an offense throwing to your running backs. Hell, you've already got the best tight end the Pats have had this decade: Mike Vrabel. |
