Unfortunately those numbers seem to be completely ignored by the GOP powers that be.

I really don't get how they think they can win elections playing Democrat light. The people voting that way already have their party.

Because that's their only chance to ever win another national election.

the Republicans are in a demographic death spiral for good reason. They have lurched too far too the right. Same issue the Democrats did when they lurched left in the 70's. Either the Republicans go back to the center or its over on the national scale just like it was for the Democrats until they came back to the middle.

I agree that the shift is happening, but are there really more libertarians than evangelicals right now? I really doubt it.

There are plenty of us evangelicals that aren't interested in forcing you to live any way other than the way you choose. Personally, I'd appreciate it if everyone would stop murdering unborn babies, but I'm not going to fool myself into believing that we're going to legislate that away after all these decades. So other than that, we're good.

100% of Cosmo's brain has poor reading comprehension skills.

If you disagree with the author's view on what libertarianism means (notice the small l) then take it up with the author not the 78% who have views that the author feels fall more closely in line with today's mainstream libertarianism than they do traditional GOP stances.

No one was asked "are you are a Libertarian?"
