I'm sure this has been asked but did the Big 12 award a tie in football to KSU and Oklahoma?

It is what the league rules say it is.
Essentially the same thing as when KU won titles in basketball in 2005, 2006, and 2008 despite losing to Oklahoma and Texas (x2).

I explained this to you once in the KU thread already.

I doubt it comes into play this year anyway. I don't think we'll pull off the win in Stillwater.

Oh, ok. Just asking. I would probably agree with you, rules are rules. So Oklahoma deserves to split football and you deserve to split basketball, if we both win/lose on Saturday. Agreed.

As a fan, I refuse to recognize the OU football title. But also as a fan, I'll force everybody to recognize the shared Bball title should it come to fruition.

View 1976-77 roster (12)

This is the roster of the last KSU Big 8 Basketball champions. There a lot of great memories in those names. Evans, Droge, Curtis Redding (part of Jack' NYC Pipeline that would bring us a young Panamanian named Ro Blackmon).

This team also won the inaugural Big 8 tourney over MU. They broke my heart when they lost controversially in the Sweet 16 to eventual Natty Champ Marquette. They had Bo Ellis, and Jerome Whitehead and Buth Lee and a guy named Bernard Toon. Bo Ellis designed their unis and they were unique/controversial because they were designed to NOT be tucked in!

The controversial loss came late when, down three, Evans missed a jumper but Darryl Winston tipped it in and was fouled. But, in that day, a tip in was not considered a controlled shot, so instead of an "and one" Winston got two free throws (which he made). The CATS stole the ball with under 4 seconds left but a desperation heave was way off. 67-66 UM.

The NCAA changed the rule at their spring meeting after the Final Four to allow and one on a tip in.

Would love a piece of that title today.
