Official 2012-2013 NBA Thread

Looks like James Harden has been To the Rockets for Jeremey Lamb, Kevin Martin and future picks. Plus... this is a general NBA thread.

I don't know believe they will add another max guy without dealing one, and good luck dumping Lin. They hit 15 3's tonight and won by 3. They are a very streaky team which is why they are sitting at the 8 seed. They were an eight seed at this time last year so why they look very different the results aren't so different YET.
Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying they're about to ascend to the top of the West. But there were serious questions about Morey's future after he tried to leverage everything with draft picks to trade for a star vet and got stuck with multiple #1 picks and no star. I think the Lin backlash has gone too far the other direction at this point. He's a nice player. Parson has really come on, Asik is a good guy to have and they have several other young players that could develop.

They're still not "there" yet, but they're significantly further along than they were coming out of the draft.

I'd heard that was already shot down. Speaking of Gortat, what the hell has happened to that guy? He had a really good year last year, started reasonably well this season, and has fallen off the edge of the earth the last month or so.

It doesn't help Houston this year. But I like that they're looking down the road when making these moves instead of putting it all into one year that they'll at best lose in the first round. It's exactly what Colangelo has never done and that shortsighted strategy has ruined the Raptors.

Lins not a ad player. They just overpaid him, and he doesn't really compliment Harden. Had they made the Harden move first no way they sign him.

Houston is in better hands just because of Harden. They will need to adjust some to really contend though.

Yeah, I just read that. To me if its a Thunder trade rumor it's not going to happen. When they do it they move fast. I'm sure they put out some feeler, and that was it. I don't know that I like that deal anyway. I think Lamb will be able to contribute next year, and they will probably get a top 14 pick from the Raptors unless Toronto strikes lottery gold. Perkins as much as I hate how Brooks uses him is valuable defensively. I just wish they would stop playing him against the Heat I don't think there is a move out there that will get them any further. I think they are better off staying pat and cashing in on the futures bet they placed dealing the beard. They will still have a strong shot to win the West, and a punchers chance if they make it to the Finals. As the young bench matures I really think its going to be the 3 years after this where they'll be really strong.

It could pay dividends down the road. Since I'm also a KU fan I like T-Rob. Houston is one of those teams I'll pull for when not playing OKC.

There was quite a bit of noise about them dealing Maynor, but I haven't heard anything the past couple of days.

Now quite a bit of talk about the Rockets trading for Josh Smith. Not sure he's a "winning" player, but that would be one seriously entertaining team to watch with him running the floor with Harden.

I don't understand why Utah wouldn't be looking to deal Millsap or Jefferson. With two young bigs that need more playing time, and free agency looming for Millsap, I just don't get it. And Millsap could be the missing piece for a really good team.

Yeah, I don't know that there is much of a market for Maynor right. He does have the knee brace of now, and the last few times he's been in he's looked a lot better. Reggie is the better fit for us now, but could be a steal for some team.

Josh Smith in Houston would be interesting.

It seems like they've been trying, and aren't getting what they are looking for.

I can't believe we are 2 hours from the trade deadline, and have nothing, but the deal last night. Either there is going to a 2 hour flurry, or the most quiet deadline day we've seen in the NBA in a while.

I am hoping the Celtics don't make any major trades unless they can get Millsap\Jefferson which is highly unlikely.

I did see T-Rob got traded and the Morris twins are going to be reunited. These former KU players are awesome. Maybe Houston should trade T-Rob to Phoenix then we can have KU West, they would probably win as many games as they did at KU.

Looks like the Celtics are close to getting Jordan Crawford for Fab Melo and Barbosa's contract.

Edit: Trade done..Jordan Crawford for Barbosa.

According to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com, J.J. Redick is being dealt to Milwaukee. Yahoo Sports reports the Magic receive Doron Lamb, Beno Udrih and Tobias Harris.
