Computers iPad 2 damn near bricked

Every software update I've done on my iPad 2 renders it closer to damn near useless. It's constantly stalling, the Internet only works well if I shut down wifi and then rejoin the network, etc. Literally the only thing this thing still does well is store my collection of Kindle books. It's basically my library, and not much more.

Do I have any options other than just biting the bullet and buying another one?

take it to the Apple store. Perhaps they will sell you a refub for $250?

Connect it to a computer running the latest iTunes.
Log into iTunes with your AppleID.
Right click on the iPad, and Transfer purchases.
Right click on the iPad, and do a complete backup.
Restore the iPad.

See if that helps..

Fish's suggestion should work but only if it's truly an iPad 2.

I have an iPad 1 (that I've since replaced with an iPad 2), that was buggy and would crash constantly. The best solution was to wipe and restore with iOS 7 but even then, it's still pretty crappy.

One thing to keep in mind is that their updates, at least in my experience, provide negative returns at some point because the older devices simply aren't fast enough.

Wipe and restore. My iPad 2 is also slow as hell compared to my iPhone 6. But, it runs movies and that's all I really want it for, so it still fills a need.

My iPad 1 is good for surfing message board. Any kind of content centered site, NBC NEWS for instance, it crashes. It does allow me to watch prime TV tho.
