Jeff Flanagan: "Tyler Bray slow to grasp pro system"

In a puff piece on Aaron Murray, an interesting tidbit:

The Chiefs already have starter Alex Smith, backup Chase Daniel and developmental quarterback Tyler Bray.

The Chiefs could save $1.4 million if they were to release Daniel. Bray, though, seems the most vulnerable. Although the Chiefs love his arm strength, he was slow to grasp the pro system.

Murray likely won't have those issues since he already has played in a pro passing system at Georgia.

Who knows. Flanagan's comments aren't surprising, but they are the first I've read. Ironically, Bray's status could depend on whether Murray is as pro-ready as his supporters claim. If so, maybe Daniel is expendable and you keep the long-term project.

How the **** is Murray going to leap frog Daniel when he's basically Daniel with a worse release, less poise, less athleticism, less experience, etc.? He's a poor man's Chase Daniel.

Reid doesn't really give a flip about size, he's used undersized guys throughout his career... Detmer, Garcia, Kolb, now Murray... I'm sure theres more.

They wont go into the season without a veteran backup. Daniel has at least proven he can play "ok" in a game.

Only way they keep all 4 is if they put Murray on IR.

So why people are excited about pissing away a draft pick on a dude that is not even as good as our incumbent experienced clipboard holder is beyond me.
