Vernon Davis wasn't getting the ball earlier in the year with Alex Smith either. He had a season slump and awoke in the playoffs.

And Kaepernick didn't have Manningham or KYle Williams due to season ending injuries.

It was Crabs, Moss and whoever else we could find off the street. IT still worked.

Seems fairly obvious that they're bringing in A Smith to be, well A Smith, while they look for their Kaepernick.

I'd be really surprised if they didn't make a desperate move to trade back and get a 2nd rounder this year back and end up with Manuel or Bray.
