I need to do a complete reinstall of XP Pro on one of my PCs, but I'm having a problem- I can't get it to boot off the XP installation CD. I've gone into the bios and changed the order so it hits the CD drive first, to no avail. I've also created a startup disk from within XP, but when it boots to the A drive, I can't get to any drive but A or B. I can't make the switch (from within DOS, of course) to either the C drive or D drive- just get a 'no drive by that name' sort of message.
So- if either my PC would boot off the CD, or I could get to the CD drive from my startup floppy, I'd be good as gold on reformatting and reinstalling. I'm appealing to those much more in the know than I for a solution to the problem.
I've also gone to bootdisk.com and gotten the 6-floppy set of XP install discs, but I want to reformat the C drive (contains XP), and that won't work as the files from the floppies are installed onto the C drive...
