Facts like LeBron already being 7th overall in career postseason win shares at the age of 28 (above both Kobe and Dirk)? http://www.basketball-reference.com/..._career_p.html

Like him being #3 in both WS/48 and PER behind only Jordan and Mikan?

People just don't get Lebron....he's not built to be MJ....he's a hybrid everything, and it's fascinating. I truly enjoy cheering for him.

That's awesome. The EXACT same words were used by many to describe Kobe. They are now used to describe Lebron. I hope the next big thing in the NBA is actually a peoples champion alah Michael, Larry, Magc.

Michael Jordan actually quit on both his team and the entire league to play a different sport in the middle of his basketball prime. And yet, he's perceived as a "people's champion" due almost entirely to media narratives, while LeBron is the guy destroying the game with his presence in some idiots' minds.

Yep, makes all kinds of sense.

I was strictly talking about basketball and the fact that you Cleveland whiners got to watch one of the greatest athletes ever for 7 years, many of which were seasons where those teams contended for championships. Cities rarely get that kind of direct opportunity to experience the kind of transcendent athlete that LeBron is.

But really, outside of two baseball championships over two decades ago that are a distant memory for many, Toronto has been just as bad as anybody in the area of professional sports. The Leafs haven't won a Cup in nearly 50 years, the Raptors have had only five .500+ seasons in their entire existence, and the Blue Jays haven't sniffed the playoffs since 1993.

Michael quit on his team?

Maybe. Kind of a weird thing to say. I think his life was pretty ****ed up at that point and he had achieved everything he needed to achieve...

In fact...can you imagine if he just never came back? That would have been the most sensational sports story ever. The best basketball player to ever play quits at age 30 after winning 3 straight titles.

Yeah, because this is the same exact thing. 1) MJ won 3 championships for the team already. Not before the job was done; 2) He made the announcement right after the season ended. He didn't string his team along; 3) He never quit on the court in front of thousands of fans and in front of his teammates; 4) Jordan held a standard press conference. He didn't orchestrate an entire event.

You are probably the only person who makes excuses for "the Decision." Regardless of basketball abilities, it was completely stupid.

The Decision was stupid. LeBron has acknowledged that mistake and apologized for it. The fact that you and others can't get over it says more about you than LeBron.

The NBA loves how polarizing Lebron is even though he hasn't done anything to perpetuate this image except winning the last 2 years.

Hatred brings in a shitload of viewers.

That is too funny. Yeah, I guess Chiefs' fans are whiners because we think the Vermeil era was a failure. But... but... we got to watch a dominant RB and maybe the best TE of all time!

Don't even try to compare Toronto to Cleveland. Cleveland is known for having a devout fan base despite how bad their teams are. They had one football owner take a sellout crowd team to a new market purely for $'s, then watched that coach (bellichick) become one of the best coaches in NFL history and watched that same team win a Super Bowl a few years later. In the 90's, the Browns never made a Super Bowl, but twice came within seconds of it: 1) John Elways had "the Drive" where he went 97 yards against a dominant defense; 2) "the Fumble" - Earnest Byner fumbled a game-tying 4th quarter TD on the 1 yard line. In 1997, the Indians blew a 3-1 lead and haven't been to the World Series since.

LeBron is from Akron. He knows the history. A lot of my best friends are Cleveland fans. Anyone who tells these fans to "get over it" or that they are "whiney" need to get real.

I love this comment. Because if one of the greatest and marketable football players of all time played for the Chiefs for 7 years and did the same exact thing, people would be over it by now. Cleveland fans don't get over it because they love sports and are real fans of the sport. They don't care about great players if they don't win them championships.

JFC, are Cleveland fans to stupid to kill themselves?

Or at the very least, change teams.
