Mike Dixon is at home in his mom's basement, furiously fapping while he thinks about impregnating his tutor then pushing her down a staircase.

Frank Haith is sitting in his athletic dept office, fantasizing about having added Mike Dixon's 13.5 ppg and what that would have meant to his won loss record, and NCAA seed this year.

Considering Missouri was 8 baskets away from being 31-3 rather than 23-11... it's tough to take.

I thought MIssouri had a legitimate shot to win the SEC WITH Mike Dixon. Once he was dismissed, those expectations changed quite a bit.

Dixon was a key crunch time player for Missouri and its best isolation player (which is why he often had the ball in those slowdown spots last year instead of Pressey). It was pretty obvious they missed his overall offensive ability and his guts/willingness to make the winning shot/play.

No doubt in my mind they win at least 4 of the close road games with Dixon. (at aTm, at UCLA, at Arkansas and at Tennessee would work). Much different season just from that.

It was an elite team with Mike Dixon. Without him, about what we see here.

Maybe Varez Ward will transfer here next year. He'd fit right in with Pressey!

Put Clarence Gilbert on this team instead of Phil Pressey and it's a top 10 team with legitimate Final 4 potential.
Yeah, there was nothing wrong with Clarence.

It's ironic that without Haith Miami has had its best season in years.

It's also ironic that its happening with 6/7 players being guys Haith brought in, and only two of them were eligible to play Haith's last year in Miami.

Larkin is the only guy Larranaga brought in himself.

None of those things are ironic, but they do dispel the myth that Haith failed in Miami b/c the school didn't care about its basketball program.

Worthless talking point is worthless.

I'd say this about Miami... it's a program where sustaining success year-to-year is more difficult than a traditional major conference program.

This team is built on the mid-major model: A senior-dominated team with a key piece or two that are diamonds in the rough (in this case, Shane Larkin, who is much better as a collegian than projected out of HS).

It's possible to win at Miami, but you must win differently than at the programs above it in the ACC pecking order.
