How about that scene in Family Ties where Alex Keaton goes to the train station to try to talk his girlfriend into staying but she just kisses him and then leaves anyway, leaving Alex to stand in the station while Billy Vera sings "At This Moment"?
Okay - not really. |

This is the first time I ever recall watching a television show and just feeling beat up by what happened...
Two Cathedrals rant at the Church: Plus the very ending with the Dire Straits soundtrack and the buildup to his MS press conference. He walks out of the Cathedral to that press conference intending to announce that he won't run and that's your cliffhanger: Honestly, Two Cathedrals may be the best hour of television ever made. Everything about that episode is just nails. And my favorite Mad Men Moment is the end of "Shut the Door, Have a Seat" when they concoct the plan and fire themselves. I can't find it on youtube, but Most of you know what I'm talking about.

GoT has got to be one of the most overrated shows ever. It's hailed as this triumph of storytelling and character evolution, but IMO it continues to fall flat. I realize that this, too, is subjective; however, I fail to see the merit in comparing the two when it's like comparing apples and oranges, save for the "HBO" at the beginning.

There's also a TON of genius in the last scene of The Sopranos finale. Incredible camera work.

Total schmaltzy romantic bs but the Newsroom scene from the end of last season with maggie yelling at the Sex in the City bus, and then Jim's on it, was one of my favorite scenes in recent years. Even after they ran it into the ground early this season.
