Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)

A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

Wow, nothing?

Was Baelish telling Sansa to marry young Bolton and kill him, or maybe all of 'em?

A sort of reverse Red Wedding probably. She can rally all the Northern Bannermen to her side and eliminate the Boltons and Freys in one fell swoop.

With Baelish controlling the Eyrie and Sansa in the North, its not like the crown will dispute her claim.

I did enjoy seeing Jon take Slynt's head off. Non-readers might not remember, but Slynt was leader of the Kings Landing Gold Cloaks when Littlefinger betrayed Ned Stark in season 1, and he and his men killed everyone from Winterfell and captured Ned. Slynt was also in on Joffrey's plan to kill Ned instead of showing mercy, and he helped hold Ned down to have his head chopped off. So it's a nice bit of revenge for Jon to kill his ass just like Ned taught him to do. Got the official Stannis nod of approval as well.

My favorite line of the night was when that skinny waif chick whacked Arya and Arya called her a "****"...cracked me up!

Cersei vs. Margery looks like it will be a fun showdown. So far, Cersei is losing, but I'm sure she will have to do something about that pretty quick.

Looking forward to seeing what happens with Sansa and Ramsey. They are not following the books on that whole storyline, so keeps everyone wondering what will happen.

What will Jorah do with Tyrion???

This is a big departure from the book. All us have no idea what is going to happen. If Sansa decides to take back the north, that would be cool to see.

Yeah, Jon chopping off Slynt's head was good. And the damned writers made us all think he wasn't going to do it. I didn't really understand what they were getting at with Thorne blocking the way and then getting out of it. I'm not sure if that was a show of support for Jon or him just being a pain in the ass for a bit. Anyway, well done.

The conversation Davos had with Jon was damn compelling television. I don't know what will happen, but that whole dialogue was outstanding.

As far as Arya, they need to get that storyline moving. I understand what they are trying to do, but it's just ****ing weird. As much as I like a man and the riddles he spits out, the story line is just ****ing weird at the moment.

Cersi vs. Margery is great shit. It's like watching 2 master chess players. You don't know what the **** they're doing, but you're pretty sure it's over your head. In other news, it's been a hell of a long time since Cersi has been nice. Also I was totally surprised by the way she handled the sparrow.

The Sansa storyline is interesting. I didn't really see it coming but it is pretty awesome to think about what is going to happen. Roose's predicament is pretty interesting also, especially with his ****ing crazy assed kid ****ing shit up. They worked the Theon angle nicely too. That will be interesting to watch. As well as the "North Remembers" comment. Nice. Well ****ing done.

I saw the Jorah thing coming from a mile away, but it is interesting to see it all play out..

I read it as a show of support. Thorne knows good and well Jon could have had him commanding the latrine crew, and he didn't.

How exactly is Jorah going to use Tyrion to get back in good with Dany? I know they left it with him saying the "Queen" and that could be taken as meaning Cersei as well....but in the preview for the season...I'm pretty sure I remember them showing Jorah fighting in the streets of Mereen against the Harpies.

You think this is dragging? Just be glad they are not following the book religiously.

I thought he was fighting in an arena? IDK. I presume he thinks he's a Lannister. He's worth something.
