2nd team all conference offensive guard and defensive linebacker senior year. Politics kept me from 1st team defense or so my coach told me.

I didn't.
My dad wouldn't let me past 8th grade. Didn't want me to get hurt for wrestling. My Junior year, he told me that if I got my bench press up to 300, that he would let me go out. I got it up to 320. However, I got in trouble that Summer...some of my wrestling buddies and I broke into a school, stole the letters out of the school marquee box and were in the process of writing a derogatory message about a couple of our wrestling rivals on the school marquee for everyone who drove by to see. This was our 4th or 5th time doing this...it was pretty funny stuff until we got caught. When we got caught, I had to go to Juvie for a few days and they printed a story about us in both the "City and Region" section and the "Sports" section of our area newspaper because our wrestlig team was a big deal at the time...we had placed in the top 4 at state 3 out of the last 4 years...and the 4 of us who got caught doing that were 4 of the best 5 wrestlers on the team. Heck, two were captains (myself and another guy) and the other two were captains the year and year after we graduated. That was freaking embarrassing. And our school policy would let me miss 4 cross country events, but not 4 football events, for I had been out for cross country the 2 previous years. I tried doing both at once, but going to football practice for 2-2.5 hours followed by running my cross country workout of 4-5 miles after football practice was just too much. I only lasted two weeks. In Junior High, I was starting nose and starting left guard. When I was out guise two weeks my Senior year, they were working me out at nose and tight end. It is pretty rare for the guy who could bench press the most in the school to be a cross country runner. Haha, I only went out for that to stay active and stay out for wrestling, though. I wish I could have gone out for football. |

My parents wouldn't let me play after my sophmore year. After you got your drivers license you had to go to work. 35 years later still working. I'll never forgive for not letting me play football my last two years of high school. They were such assholes. On the bright side I'm a electrical engineer and I just got a 60k bonus. I make more money in 3 months than those 2 dumbasses made together in the best years of their lives.

4A first team All-State safety my Senior year. Had a couple offers to play football at Division II and III schools. I was only 5' 9" and 170 lbs. so I decided to go to a really good school and focus on getting a great education. Best decision I ever made.

I hated football season during high school. Some of my best friends ostracized me because they were pissed at me. Also, I went to a small 2A school...one of the smallest 2A schools in the state. |
