Do We Have The Guns To Win It All?

We've made alot of FA moves the last two years and have drafted some defensive talent. We have the same offensive players that have lead the league the last several years. We also have a new HC who's defensive minded and he's brought in several new assistants. So how do you all feel as camp begins? Do we have the guns to get it done? It doesn't mean I'm predicting us to do it but I believe we do.

Ditto. I think the WR situation will be OK; even with the current Kennison situation.

Being a D homer, DT is my biggest concern. Krumrie needs to be throwing red meat to those guys and cracking a whip at TC.

Kinda makes you cringe when you think about it... do all that work all season and it often comes down to one play or two.

My only two real big worries are that something bad will happen with Roaf, and we won't find a pass rush. If those two things turn out well, we're going to be super dangerous. If not, then it'll be a fun season of arguing....haha.
the difference bewtween us not being in the playoffs and Pittsburgh winning the Superbowl was us blowing a 20 point lead (or whatever), at home, against Philly....ughh...

anyways, since I'm pretty sure (but not positive) "guns" isn't a euphamism for penis in this thread, my take is that it all depends on our "young guns"...yes, injuries of course...but if LJ/DJ/Allen all play like probowlers and if Mitchell and Parker each raise their level of play, and if Fox gets on the field and lives up to the hype, and Crapho etc...then we will be - finally - a balanced, tough team cruising into the playoffs...

I think we do.

We have a team that's beginning to resemble a Marty team without one key hindrance - MARTY.

I hope Herm does not prove to be a Marty clone.

For all of Carl's faults, you'd be foolish to suggest he hasn't learned something in his 16 years here. If Herm was a Marty clone, Carl wouldn't have hired him.

Carl knows what Super Bowl fever would do to this town, and to Lamar's bank account.

I think we were close to winning it last year. If it wasn't for Roaf's injury, we would have been in the playoffs. No doubt. Our D was much much improved except for the Giants/Cowboys games. I'm not saying we would have won it all had we gotten into the playoffs, but wild card teams can win it (Pitt), and nobody would have wanted to play us, that is for sure.

The biggest change for this year will be our coaching staff. Not Ty Law or Ron Edwards or LJ starting for 16 games etc. I think the philosophy on D will make the difference. What concerns me is the Marty ball approach on offense. I expect to want Herm's head a few times this season. But we'll see.

Can we win the SB this year? Damn right we can. We're among the top 10 teams with chances, IMO.

Will we win it? Probably not.

I'll have a better idea in December...if KC steps on its dick (Giants/Dallas games) like it did last year, probably not.

At this point Im more concerned about the offense than the defense. If Herm goes Marty, they're toast. If the offense continues to play with balance, and the defensive talent steps up, I'd say KC's got as good of a shot as any team.

I think we definitely do, if we can avoid key injuries, and win on Thanksgiving.

I know it's cliche'....but, if we can stay healthy, AND we get a few bounces of the ball.....AND a couple of players who we need to step up, do....

Then, Maybe.

You forgot the most important one, Kotter, road wins...it's really hurt KC the last 2-3 years.

Sure.

We have holes and question-marks, but what team doesn't?

The main factor for any contending team is avoiding the injury bug.
