I had Limbaugh on my car radio early this afternoon. During the call-in period, people from California and Orange County called in to say what they witnessed.

One said she got 6 absentee ballots. Another guy saw the person before him say he had no identification, of any kind and that person was still allowed to vote. I think they don't require any identification for any voter. Or perhaps he was a caller from another state. I was driving I may have missed it but the absentee ballot woman I was sitting in a parking lot before leaving. I know I heard that one right.

Things that make you go hmmmm.....when all those late votes resulted in dramatic overturns of some Republican seats.

Maybe pest will be along to tell us this doesn't happen or can't happen in California.

I've seen the 6 absentee ballots happen before. Not all 6 are counted.....at least in California. As soon as one comes in....the other 5 are null and void. Usually those types of errors are caught though and voters are notified.

There is no ID required in California. So yeah....the voter in line wouldn't be required to show one.

Trump wanted to "lock her up" and investigate Comey.

White House lawyers bluntly told him that if he ordered the Justice Department to investigate his political rivals, then he would probably be impeached.

His Establishment lawyers haven't served him well. Nor is that an impeachable offense—not in the case of HiLiaRy, because she was let off, being an insider Establishment player, by Comey who even cited where she broke the laws. Meanwhile, this is what his political opposition is doing to Trump.

Can't make this shit up!

This brings me to ask why you are suddenly here again post mid-term? Are you only here when your side gains a modicum of power back?

If only CA had voter ID, you wouldn't see the same results. It would still be more Ds there but.....

She said she turned her absentee ballot in and showed up to vote in person instead. But she did that because the 6 absentee ballots concerned her. She probably didn't know they don't get counted.

Tho' I have to wonder if some were in some cases because of so many votes post election changing the count that much in some cases.

Honest question: Can anyone share the explanation on how not requiring ID to vote can guard against voter fraud at the same level as requiring ID?

Everyone realizes that there is a canvass period after the election right? We have 30 days by law to certify the election. We're still counting in absentees that came in (postmarked on election day and received up to 3 days after election day), the provisional ballots that were cast at the polling place, and balancing all of the polling place ballots back. Plus the 1% manual audit of all of the ballots.

People act like if that shit wasn't in the results on election night that it's ****ing fraud.

First you'd have to establish that voter fraud is a real problem. Does the possibility exist? Sure. But the previous decades have shown again and again that voter fraud is exceptionally rare. So, why devote so many resources and commissions to something that isn't a real issue? Given that not everyone has ID, and that many of the laws that have been written make it purposefully onerous for certain types of people to vote, a very real questions exists if they are actually preventing previously non-existent fraud from occurring, or if they're putting additional roadblocks in the way of many people voting. Moreover, voter ID laws only target voter impersonation, which is exceptionally rare (as in 31 documented cases from 2000-2014).

I don't think it's hard to make a strong case that voter fraud measures are really a Trojan horse for voter suppression. The US does not have a long history of voter fraud. It does, however, have a rich and extensive history of voter suppression, and when judges mention rulings on voter ID laws that say such laws target certain parts of the population with targeted precision, it's difficult not to see them in a far more negative light, especially when the problem they're attempting to solve doesn't actually exist.
