Shouldn't John Kasich be the front-runner for the GOP

He's awkward and lacks charisma but isn't he really the most qualified of the current GOP group?

Oh and Kasich had funded Planned Parenthood. When it became a hot potato he went back and stopped funding it in Ohio...that was only sometime in the past few months I believe. Very opportunistic.

Imagine, someone wanting to grow up to be a politician at age 7. Yep, that's Kasich.

I think Kasich would be a very good choice for President. He has as much (or more) relevant experience as anyone else in the race and he's more conservative than his current reputation suggests. He's a lot more pragmatic than ideological, which is what gets him that reputation from the ideologically minded, but that would also allow him to find common ground with his opposition (both on the right and on the left).

Unfortunately, he lacks the presence a really good candidate needs. For that reason, my answer to the thread question is that I'm surprised he's made it this far.

So a candidate who didn't earn the nomination should be the nominee? Heck I would consider holding my nose and vote for Bill Clinton.

Potentially none of them will earn 1237, and the nomination until the convention...part of the process is negotiate and form blocs. A valid way to earn it or no?

I thought that for a very long time, too. Then I got extensive time watching Kasich campaign.

He is putrid on the campaign trail, and he's damn near Trumpian with his temper.

He's the best option the GOP has, honestly, but they really do have to go with Trump or Cruz at this point.

Bill Kristol is really pushing this General Jim Mattis guy if he creates a Third Party ticket to run against Trump should he be the nominee. This general is a mad dog! It's no wonder the DC NeoCons are panting for him. Probably hear more about him later. He's a social liberal.
